WOW!! Talk about a bunch of BS!...

Steelers' T.J. Watt Loses Defensive Player of the Year Award

PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker T.J. Watt won't walk away with his second Defensive Player of the Year Award, losing to Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett.

Watt finished a historic season for the Steelers with 19, becoming the first player in NFL history to lead the league in sacks three different times. He also tallied 68 tackles, 19 tackles for loss, 36 quarterback hits, four forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, eight passes defended, an interception and a touchdown.

In Week 18 - a do-or-die game for the Steelers' playoff push - he recorded two of his 19 sacks.

He was also named a First-Team All-Pro and Pro Bowler, the AFC Defensive Player of the Year by the 'Committee of 101,' and was voted team MVP by his teammates.
Garrett finished the season tied seventh in sacks with 14. He also recorded 42 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, 30 quarterback hits, four forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and three passes defensed.

Watt apparently skipped the NFL Honors ceremony after learning of the results prior to the show. He also tweeted out a response to losing the award.
People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.
“I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest – If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t play!” Jack Lambert
“Quarterbacks should wear dresses.” Jack Lambert

The more I thought about it, I don’t have a problem with him not winning unanimous. Hell, up until like Week 15, the race was pretty much still wide open lol.

As for Coach of the Year, at this point I’m just wondering what else LaFleur has to do to win it just once?

Stoked for Pep. First drafted Panther to make the HOF. Should be a few more behind him over the next few years.

Unfortunate, but not really a surprise. He quickly outperformed that 3 year contract he signed in year one. He wanted to get paid more, but they're not likely to pay what he wants.

Philly has a few players who are up for an extension, so they have to make tough decision

Between that and interviewing coaches at halftime I'm just like "what's the point".....

For somebody more cap-oriented than me:

Is a void year literally a year with no base salary that will be voided?

I know back in the day, contracts would have ridiculous amounts of base salary on the back end. Those years were never expected to convey and were just there to spread out the signing bonus. But they made the overall contract look better for the agent.

Looking at Deebo's contract on Spotrac, 2026 and 2027 have no base salary and are listed as void years. Did they give up on making the contract look better than it really was and now just list it as a void year? Obviously the void years are still used to spread out the cap hit for the bonuses.

Yeah, the escalations at the back end were (and still are) largely there to create leverage for both sides to force a deal to cut them loose or renegotiate when the cap gets close.

In the case of Deebo, yeah, there are extra years there basically as placeholder to spread out any prorated pay, be that signing bonus, roster bonuses, etc. Then at some designated point after the last game of the 2025 season those years will automatically void and the balance of the dead money will hit the cap. I presume if they were player or team options they'd at least have a base salary attached, but a void year is ditching any of that pretense unless they extend / renegotiate.

Honestly what neighborhoods did they go through? That **** was going to happen regardless of a parade happening.

                            I’m confused by this.

Are you saying this was inevitable or just saying that shootings happen everyday?

Just curious what locations they want through, and how safe those areas are day to day, what precautions they took. Like if you take a parade route through certain areas of Chicago there's a chance it won't go well, having nothing to do with the parade itself. The type of shootings that don't become huge stories, but happen all the time.

I hate hearing about evil clowns like those that did the shooting. **** them.

                                More stories like this please.

Kansas City Chiefs offensive lineman Trey Smith shared a WWE title belt to help calm a young boy in the aftermath of the mass shooting at the team's Super Bowl celebration.
