So I see the NFL has basically killed all celebrations but the Lambeau Leap. They'll get that too soon at this rate.

It'll be years. We still get the "Aww shucks ain't Green Bay adorable? Bless their hearts." treatment.

Which is pretty dumb since it actually puts the player and fans in more danger than any other celebration they're cracking down on.

Yeah, I saw that. Since when did spinning a football become demonstrative? Just another reason I do not like Goodell at all.

So what exactly is the purpose of the league doing this move?

Clearly the players where having too much "fun" at work, and Roger Goodell was bored or Jane Skinner was on Vacation.

Because having fun while playing outside sports is a bad example for kids. It's a gateway drug.

I've never been on that train, but they really are trying to make this as generic as possible. It's weird, other leagues want their best players to shine. The NFL only wants its QB's to be recognized.... Wait, can they still fist pump after a TD?

They don't want a player injuring themselves during a celebration?

So whats the injury rate on TD celebrations? Something like .000000000005 percent? Thats not the reason.
