Plus only superstars make boatloads of cash.

That being said... Nobody is forcing these guys to play a game and get paid more than most people. I don't feel bad for them in the least.

Cheap shots (ie: launching with you're helmet) need to be cracked down on more seriously, but aside from that it's a risk of the job. The NFL needs to stop it's silly little witch hunt it's got going on with the rules.

Some players just need to play under more control. It's an emotional fast game, but there are no need for some of these dirty extra hits that are happening.

For instance, Ahmad Black appears to not even be looking at what he's trying to tackle.

Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, Lightning

        .
1-year of NFL minimum salary is basically 10 years of an average person. So if they play 3 years in the NFL the makes 30 years of an average peson's salary, which is basically a lifetime.

All NFL players make GREAT money, period.

Btw the penalties that extend drives are getting OUT OF HAND. How are these guys making such stupid mistakes over and over?!

3 years doesn't get you a full medical or pension though.

I'm sorry but...so what? Take some of the money you make and plan ahead for your future. They have more than enough to plan ahead. If they live paycheck to paycheck they are doing it wrong.

Free college education for all of them
Amazing salaries for a few years

They are handed every opportunity to succeed. I will not feel sympathy for any NFL player and their money situation, ever.

Well he's right, but they spend at a different rate then normal people.

As much as I'd like to say I'd live in my current apartment if I made an NFL players salary, I know it's not true. Hell yeah I'm buying a nice house. I'd still be fiscal responsible but I am going to shell out for a new car and a new place to live.

And that personal chef I've always wanted.

If you know you're a fringe NFL'er though, you better play it smart. Then again, if you're only in the league 3 years, that's less wear and tear on your body. You won't have to prepare for those later in life medical costs. I'm sure there is still a toll taken on your body from HS, to CFB, to the few years in the league.

Still, NDalum's point stands. They just need to have a long term plan, and many don't.

Does the NFLPA have any sort of retirement plan for its players? If I were part of the PA and was legitimately interested in the protection and well beings of players here out, I'd set up a sort of social security where the NFLPA withholds x amount of their check until they are out of the league. As long as the NFLPA doesn't blow it someplace else then the players will at least have something they didn't piss away during their playing years.

6 figures at a minimum is a pretty exuberant amount of money for anyone??

I don't disagree that NFL players don't make great money.

I just don't agree with the "ALL" part because that's not necessarily accurate, especially since not ALL players are pulling in 6 figures annually.
