Big Ben wants out of Pittsburgh?

@RapSheet: #Steelers sources expect Big Ben to ask them to explore trade options after 2013. They fielded offers for him last offseason. Could again

Wouldn't surprise me. If Ben stays in Pittsburgh he's just going to waste the last few good years he's got on mediocre at best teams.

That's the first thing that came to mind for me as well. If they can get a Julio Jones type of ransom for him, why not?

Ben's damaged goods though. I don't see any team giving up a first for him, maybe a conditional 2nd or 3rd rounder.

Steelers would receive a nice package in return for Ben. I know I'd want him in New England if Brady wasn't here.

Stick him on a team like the Rams and they become a contender in the NFC.

Ben's agent denies he is unhappy. Take that for what its worth. Ben doesnt seem like the type that would want to play anywhere else.

I doubt he's unhappy, but I'm sure he wants another shot at a Super Bowl while also leaving PIT on good terms and in better shape with picks coming back their way.

Can't fault him for that. The AFC is tough, and the North seems to have flipped with CIN and (I hesitate...) CLE showing signs of life and PIT down and BAL without guys who made them what we think of them as.

What are some good destinations for him? MIN, JAC... Could be STL though not sure what the financials and opinion on Bradford is.

Maybe it's the supporting cast but roethlisberger just doesn't seem like he has a lot of mileage left in him. He's about one or two big hits away from being done. Not saying that teams wouldn't want him, just that I don't see him as a guy that can single handedly turn a team from cellar dweller to contender.

You could be right. His play style could very well have him one big hit away from being finished. It's just that I've seen him pull plays out of his *** so many times that I'm not ready to count him out just yet.

How many quarterbacks can't you say "He's one or two big hits away from being done" though.

My guess is he said something that got taken out of context, I really don't see him not being a Steeler.

Ben's injury history stands out over most qbs.

                              How so??

I think you are mistaking someone who takes a lot of hits and leaves games versus an injury history.

His most significant injury came off the field in a motorcycle accident, if I remember right.
