Pretty sure I said it when it happened. Dude was done 2 years ago. He still has SOME value, but nothing close to what they paid. He used the Texans for one last pay check. I love the guy and what he meant to the Ravens, but got no problem with any Texans fan being pissed.

Re: NFL Off Topic
He is still a child clearly. I've heard the way the NFL's drug testing policy is set up and you basically can do whatever drugs you want from February to July and not get caught (if you are not in the drug program). Reason being Gene Upshaw didn't want idiots really playing.
Basically (and this is what I remember from listening to Chris Cooley talk about the drug testing program on his radio show 2 months ago.) if you are not in the program you are only tested once during the season (randomly) and everyone at the start of training camp. So basically don't smoke when you are working and you are fine. They don't even really do testing during OTAs.
Now if you are in the drug program you are tested more often and at random, in addition to the in season randoms. Again, if you can manage to hold off until February and cut it out again in July you could hang out with Snoop Lion all off-season and probably be okay.
The NFL tests players for marijuana, but if the imprisoned former receiver Sam Hurd is to be believed, those tests are very easy to beat.
So how did Hurd and all those teammates avoid being suspended under the NFL’s substance-abuse policy? According to Hurd, players know approximately what time of year they’ll get tested and just stop using when the test is coming up, then use again the rest of the year once they’ve provided their annual urine sample.
Basically, the NFL’s marijuana tests catch only players who aren’t smart enough to figure out the drug-testing system, or players who have such problems that they simply can’t stop for long enough to let drugs clear their systems once a year.Moderator

And in Bowe's case, why are you going to speed when you have some grass in the car? Weed-smoker 101: Don't give the police a reason to come in contact with you by doing something that is easily avoided.Last edited by ImTellinTim; 11-12-2013, 06:34 PM.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
Todd Christensen died today from complications from a liver transplant. Sad. I remember him being a really good commentator on NBC back in the day and even on American Gladiators. Apparently he had liver issues and was awaiting a transplant since last year. RIP Todd, he was 57 years old.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
Thanks to invention of video I've been able to relive Christensen's career. He was a damn fine TE back in the day. I also remember and get to hear nowadays his work as a broadcaster. Interestingly, if you remember his pairing with Charlie Jones (which was fantastic BTW) you'd never know that the two of them hated each others guts!
