Doesn't happen often, but I can say with confidence that this year the last 4 remaining were the best 4 overall all year. Both of these games should be highly entertaining in different ways.

The NFL is now looking to sell off part of the Thursday night package. So basically, use the Thursday night games to sell the NFL Network, once that's done, sell off the games.

It's time for Goodell to go.

He just continues making the NFL millions more... he's not going anywhere.

lol. The TNF games have been around for several years now, but selling them as another package and 'it's time for Goodell to go' ? Kind of a reach there.

He's making them more money than they know what to do with. He's not going anywhere anytime soon.

As far as selling off part of the Thursday night package? That's been in the rumor mill for at least a couple years now. The front runners are Turner or believe it or not, Google.

Putting Thursday night games on the NFL Network to sell the network and once it's sold, sell those games to another network. That's just shady.

And then you've got the push for an 18-game schedule. The push to add more playoff teams. The push for more games in London.

I realize he's making them more money, but I'm just tired of the constant money grab.

I think everyone is. The NFL has gone down the road of having a legendary commish who took care of the on field product and the business side pretty well (Rozelle) to a political type who wasn't bad with the on field stuff but let things slide a bit but still kept the business side of the equation thriving (Tagliabue) and now we just have a weaselly lawyer type who's grabbing for money while the product is slowly going down the crapper.

                  The owners write Goddell's paycheck..

The owners want to maximize revenues so if Goddell brings them more, they'll keep writing his paychecks.

Anyways, the Thursday games don't get the best match ups. The Sunday Night game gets to flex into the best match ups and NBC pays more for that privilege.

Thursday night isn't going to get a chance to steal away the best games from Sundays or Monday Night.

So a lot of bottom of the barrel stuff. If the Thursday Night package goes to an outlet where you have to pay more, a lot of fans may not bother watching outside of the fans of the teams involved. That is, there may not be as much a national interest.

I wouldn't mind seeing Thursday Night bomb, because it's better for the teams not to have to play on Thursday, sometimes traveling across the country.

I want TNF to be on regular cable, not the expanded tier it is now on NFLN.

If the NFL is smart, they go with Google (I'm assuming to be on YouTube). That market is so untapped yet is huge. If you have Internet, you can watch the game. We win.

I can't even recall a game on Thursday Night this year that made me say "oh ****, damn, I gotta watch this." Even the Texans game, I watched because I had to.

It was a terrible idea to begin with and it remains as such.

I'd be fine with the only Thursday games being on Thanksgiving. Otherwise, let college football have Thursday night.

                          A few things

Ratings are the highest they've ever been. Everyone complains about the product but more people are watching than ever. If it's really so bad, watch something else.

The NFL selling the games to a different network isn't shady, it's business. You know what the cable companies will do next time NFLN's deal is up? Drop them. If anything, I think Goodell is unwittingly killing his network.

And Thursday night won't bomb on whatever network it ends up at. Preseason games regularly win the night on network TV. The NFL is a juggernaut.

Never cared much for the Pro Bowl but this gimmick may make me want to watch it for a bit:

The Pro Bowl might have an old-school feel to it this season -- if Deion Sanders has his way.

Arian Foster tried to strong arm a woman into aborting their unborn child ... and even got his brother to apply some pro-abortion pressure, this according to a lawsuit filed by the woman who claims she's carrying the NFL star's kid.

Seems like this story could go one of two ways. She is a gold digger who is looking to score an 18 year pay check or Foster is everything the story says he is. Since TMZ is only reporting one side I won't make a judgement one way or the other for the time being.
