And no hitting a woman "allegedly" isn't equal to killing a woman "allegedly" but there should be some consequences for actions imo. The whole "we have no proof"thing is ridiculous. It's pretty frequent that victims of domestic violence defend their abusers.

If it's a misunderstanding/ "she hit herself"then charges wouldn't have been brought in the first place. I'm not defending rice in any case though, he deserves 2 games minimum imo.

You need to explain more why the "we have no proof" thing is ridiculous. Do you know something none of us, or the cops don't?

BTW they were both charged in the initial police report... no idea what went down for that either, or if Rice faced the heavier charge based only on the video. Basically, we don't know jack. I'm not going to let my emotions about men hitting women cloud my rational thought about baseless accusations.

And yes, I'm a Ravens fan, but yes, I think he hit her which caused her to pass out (probably along with a lot of alcohol but that doesn't even matter). But that has nothing to do with my feelings on this. I care more about innocent until proven guilty bc I know too many situations of people wrongfully accused. If you're angry bc you're so certain about what went down then you should be angry at his wife. I'd be pissed if law enforcement charged anyone on loose assumptions.

Are you arguing to the court of public opinion or to the actual law?

If you are arguing for public opinion I think everyone is pretty much on your side.

If you are arguing otherwise it's been spelled out already why that won't go anywhere.

There are many reasons one can be unconscious(ESPECIALLY when they are both intoxicated). While we all suspect what caused it, without her testimony as the only witness there is nothing that can be proven.

Not sure what point you are trying to make.

This thing went from unreal to surreal and there are multiple facets of this thing that people stared at and allowed to happen and it is so crazy that you know a lesson can't be learned past that point.

So much wrong here on such a public stage. I mean, ****ing brazen and a total lack of common sense at its base level that I'm ashamed to even point that sad stuff out.

It's just bizarre that without any additional information she apologizes for her role in the matter? What does that even mean? For the sake of those that suffer, repeatedly, I find it hard to believe it seems like a good idea to offer no information apart from a vague apology. This is the story of the oft-beaten girlfriend. As someone who is involved with social work it is hard to ignore some of the 'signs.' As mentioned, without additional information it is hard not to wonder of something else leading to it that she feels responsible for. And she doesn't owe anyone an explanation if that is the case but how is the image of this playing out not seen by those putting it together and signing off on it?

It was just weird. Obviously domestic abuse remains a big problem so it's hard not to look at the events today and be both skeptical and slightly .. surprised.

Such BS. You mean to tell me a 54 year old man will get 60 days in jail after driving drunk and high on substances, putting lives in danger? He should have received 4 felonies and been in jail for years. The fact that Josh Gordon might be facing a year long suspension for smoking a plant that's legal in two states but Irsay is committing a crime that's illegal in every state and only getting 60 days? Unbelievable.

Point taken. My thing is if Roethlisberger got 6 games (trimmed down to 4), and he was similarly never charged IIRC, I don't see Ray Ray getting off scot free. I just think it's comical to say that no one knows what happened in that elevator but those two. I mean that literally may be true...but people have gotten convicted of murder w/ less evidence.

Not trying to justify it but one is a penalty by the state and one is a penalty by the league.

Both are pretty consistent wish standard practice for each respective practice.

Again, not agreeing, just pointing that out.

Again, it doesn't matter if the plant was legal in all 50 states. If the NFL doesn't want you doing it, than don't ****ing do it. It's that simple. They make the rules and if you don't abide by them, you're the idiot.

I don't know how it is in other states, but in Pennsylvania, you can pay to get out of jail time by doing some class bull**** whenever you get caught drunk driving. I assume that's why we see famous people getting out of it all over the country. Pay to take the class and you're set.
