Im getting more and more discouraged on these calls. You will call a hit to the chest but low hits are ok? Texan QB Tom Savage was hit in the knee yesterday and there was no call. Maybe Im hoping against hope but it seems like this is leading to some serious issues. I mean, would it make it better if coaches could challenge roughing calls? Problem now is any hit that "LOOKS" painful is getting the flag

If it were Brady or Manning getting hit in the knee they'd call it for sure. We know this much cause we've seen it.

I'll tell you what drives me absolutely crazy. My Skins usually get the worst announcing crew every week which I'm OK with because why would you send out the A teams for a bad team but damn, do your homework bad announcers.

For a couple of weeks in a row the announcers have been touting that the Skins have a Top 10 Offense & Defense. By yards this is technically true BUT none of them care to mention that the most important stat, points given up/scored, is what matters and my squad is 26th in points scored and 27th in points given up.

You take out the games vs Tennessee and Jacksonville and it looks much worse but the commentators still trot out that BS.

That wasn't even the worst non-call of that game. Fitzpatrick's broken leg was the result of what appeared to be a deliberate trip/leg whip by Colts OLB Jonathan Newsome. I fully expect Newsome will be fined for the play.

Where can I find yards after contact stats? I must suck at google. I can't seem to find it anywhere for free.

Jesus, yeah. I feel super bad for Fitz. He tries really hard and sometimes plays above his ability, didn't deserve a broken leg. Miss you Fitz

There are still a few members of Bills nation with some love for one of our five best quarterbacks n franchise history. I think Fitz is statistically third best. A darn shame this happened.

I agree. When the Forefathers drew up the rules to this game, there weren't players dedicated to place kicking. And kickers certainly hadn't been going to kicking camps since their youth. Nor did they have the equipment nor field surfaces that players enjoy today. The game has evolved well beyond the original intent of field goals and PAT's.

Regarding Fitzpatrick, I was saddened to hear he got a broken leg. He's one of those guys you can't help but cheer for even if at the same time he makes you want to yank your hair out. He's someone that gives max effort and sometimes plays above his ability.

He's the epitome of a guy that shows that hard work can sometimes be equal to great play.

What exactly does narrowing the goalposts actually solve? Is it really "improving the game"? Or is this just a "Hmm, we're bored so lets experiment with this just because" ideas?

It seems recently, kickers are making 50+ yard FGs at the rate they used to make 40+ yarders. It could help get those stats closer t what they were.

Why are we concerned with returning stats to what they were?

So you are ok with field goals being more or less automatic?

So in 20 years when kickers athleticism and accuracy improves we'll revisit this again to make it harder for them? Meanwhile we'll push forward new ways to make playing QB easier?

I agree with the idea of this post. But personally, I am okay with FGs as they are... I'd be okay with a change too.

Yeah i'm somewhat ambivalent as well. I don't like too much change but i'm not up in arms about this idea if it means giving kickers an actual challenge.
