I think less coaches would opt for 54 and 55 yard FGs, but I think that'd turn it into the standard, go for it or punt decision they currently make. So I agree with you there. But reducing the percentage of FGs made from 40 yards and beyond isn't a bad thing imo.

I think it'll make it much harder than people think because these kickers have been kicking through the same goal posts their entire life, this change could mess them up quite a bit.

One random thing during this season has been ESPN's commercials for Monday Night Football:

I never said those 4 teams weren't good, just that they get the benefit of the doubt with the officials. I wouldn't think that would be news to people that watch games, though.

Wait. So I can't form an opinion based on box scores alone?

Not sure what you mean? You talking about just looking at how many penalties are called on each team?

                I was being sarcastic.

Everyone here "watches the games." Your attempt at trolling wasn't missed.

Guess I missed the sarcasm, probably because I wasn't "attempting to troll" anything.

                    Re: NFL Off Topic

Man the afternoon talk radio show here in Charlotte is absolutely terrible. They just have former players who have issues speaking the English language and the flow of the show is horrible.

Muhsin Muhammad is the one guy out of the group that actually belongs on a talk radio show. He's pretty solid for the most part. Omar Gaither is also pretty decent. He's only been on a little bit so I can't fully comment on him yet.

Clinton Portis and Dre Bly just can't put together sentences. They use words incorrectly all the time. Today they were talking about Cam Newton and his progression...and his DIGRESSION. I don't recall who said that cam was digressing but after one guy said it the others kept talking about Cam's digression.

Then one day Portis tries to formulate an argument about why the ACC is better than the SEC. His entire argument was centered around himself. His argument: "Well since I was the best running back in the NFL and I went to a school in the ACC the ACC is better than the SEC"

He was like "well yea the SEC has more guys go pro but the ACC has better players".

I guess he didn't realize that he played in the Big East when he was at Miami...

He was a great running back...but when it comes to talk radio his is an imbecile.

Alfred Williams is like that out here in Denver. I can't understand half of what he's saying and he struggles to formulate any kind of extensive argument.

At least Buffalo has decent guys on the radio. Thurman Thomas has a weekly thing on WGR and while he has his moments mangling the english language he can make a solid point every now and again. I know he had a local pregame TV show for YEARS (last I saw an episode was maybe a year or two ago) and again, while he has issues with the english language from time to time he is very good at explaining schemes and what the Bills need to do to win games.

Steve Tasker of course is probably the best former Bill media wise. He's very astute, has a strong grasp of the game and is a joy to listen to. He comes on here in Toronto every once in a while and his interviews are usually well spoken or he brings something up that I didn't think about before.
