He has thrown INTs that ended in pick 6s, but a lot of that is because the defense put a lot of pressure on the offense. So he knew he had to score every time with the ball to win. If the Jags had a defense or a running game, I don't think he would be throwing some many INTs.

It's funny you say that, because advanced stats actually say that Bortles was slightly more valuable than Carr was last year. Now, they are very close, but it's not fair to praise one of them as anything and not honor the other. I like both guys, but gun to my head, I'm taking BlakeGod.
Believe me I love Bortles because he semi-carried my FF team and throwing to the two Allen's is great, but I'm rolling with Carr. Might be one of those Bortles has more ability but Carr might be more successful. Glad to see Oakland and Jacksonville hit on their QB's.
I was disappointed the only Jags game I saw, Bortles played like poop. Still beat my Bills... Great catch by Robinson (pretty sure it was him and not Hurns) late.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers

Re: NFL Off Topic
This whole Manning thing would've stayed in his past if HE wasn't the one to be a complete dickbag about it ever since it happened. I don't blame anyone reporting on this considering there is a new lawsuit - which cites that incident - that brought to light a lot of court documents that haven't been seen before.Comment

Honestly, a lot of this would be water under the bridge if Manning had taken the two opportunities to have this thing resolved. First being, admitting he was wrong and quietly settling the issue while he was at Tennessee and secondly by not being a vindictive A-hole by breaking the confidentiality agreement and thus making the victim look like a piece of crap.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Take it for what its worth, I don't know anything about the writer. As for drafting a QB, I think it's smart since I don't think Osweiler stays in Denver
Broncos Plan Significant Changes at Quarterback
Updated Feb. 15, 2016
By Charlie Campbell - @draftcampbell
Bill Parcells used to say that winning is a great deodorant, and that certainly has been proven true time and again in the NFL. While the Denver Broncos won the ultimate prize of Super Bowl 50, that sweet smell won't mask some of the disgust in Denver. In fact, multiple relationships at the most important position on the team are tenuous entering this offseason. In speaking with sources, they say the Broncos are going to have real changes at the quarterback position in the weeks to come.
Sources say that Broncos general manager John Elway is done with Peyton Manning, and he won't be back with the team next year. The relationship between Manning and Elway has deteriorated over the past season, and Elway is ready to move on. Manning is faced with a decision on retiring, but sources say he won't be returning to Denver if he decides he wants to play next year.
Backup quarterback Brock Osweiler is also entering free agency. Osweiler played in eight games in 2015, completing 62 percent of his passes for 1,967 yards with 10 touchdowns and six interceptions. The fifth-year pro was unhappy about his benching, but Osweiler and the team could agree on a new contract. Sources say that Osweiler wants $12 million per season, while the Broncos want to sign him to a 3-year contract averaging about $10 million per year. While Denver would like him back, sources say that it has to be at a price they are comfortable paying.
Even if Osweiler is re-signed, drafting a quarterback early in the 2016 NFL draft is definitely in play for Denver. The Broncos loved North Dakota State quarterback Carson Wentz, but know that he won't be getting anywhere near Denver's pick. However, the team also is enamored with Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott. He is a good fit in Gary Kubiak's offense and sources say that Prescott is in play for the Broncos on the second-day of the draft.
At the Senior Bowl, Prescott really helped himself by impressing teams with intelligence, leadership and overall football character. Sources from multiple teams raved about Prescott's performance in the team interviews. They say he is a fast-rising prospect in the quarterback-needy NFL.
Denver's plan is to address the defensive line in the first round. They love Alabama's Jarran Reed, but he also is very unlikely to make it to pick 31. Still, the 2016 draft is loaded at the defensive line, so there should be some good options available to the Broncos. Even though Denver's first-round pick could go to fortifying its tremendous defense, the changes at quarterback will get all the attention this offseason.Aaron

Re: NFL Off Topic
12 mil for Osweiler doesn't seem too outrageous.
I don't think he's exactly a proven commodity, but he has some experience. More experience, or probably more success, then whoever they could replace him with (rookie or some journeyman).
I like Denver length (3 years) and think Osweiler's demands aren't too high. Sounds like they could come to a compromise.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers

Re: NFL Off Topic
As for Osweiler, it sounds like he and Denver have the framework for a reasonable deal. I'd take a flier on a QB in the draft and also sign a journeyman type QB for insurance purposes.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: NFL Off Topic
They like Siemian as well but he's not ready to be the absolute backup yet. If they can agree with Osweiler they will sign someone like TJ Yates as their backup but will have no need to draft a QB.Comment

The extent it plays a role is not as much with smaller contracts, but it could still be a gap for these two.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
The Broncos are cash strapped going into this offseason. Their least concern in this case is guaranteed money. Their focus is trying to keep the defense together as much as they can while hoping to sign Osweiler.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
If they want to give him a 4 year deal for $40 million even though that comes out as 10 a year he would not receive 10 any of those years. Denver would try to get that cap hit as low as possible. How could Brock agree to a figure like, 2 million in year 1? By giving him a larger signing bonus. Pay him a large sum now, but have it prorated over the length of the deal.
You likely know this, but it demonstrates how guaranteed money may not be their least concern. But that boils down to what Brock and his agent want and what Denver is offering.Comment
