My guess is he went off and they looked at his ear and that was it. But he didn't go off at all after the hit before that.

Unlike McCoy last year, he actually looked like he was fine, throwing a couple of passes after all of this so he may be fine. But considering the new rules in place, you would think this would be looked into more.

Sapp is becoming the Charles Barkley of the NFL. Minus being hilarious.

Charles also generally knows what he's talking about. His approach may not be universally accepted but he's not just talking out of his *** like Sapp.

                Per PFT.com

When it comes to the season-ending injury suffered by Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis, Dolphins running back Reggie Bush has no sympathy.
Bush, who suffered a knee injury of his own in the same game that saw Revis rupture an ACL, said of the situation, “It’s like the old saying, what goes around comes around,” via Ben Volin of the Palm Beach Post.
“They talked about all week about putting hot sauce and this and that, and they ended up losing their best player for the rest of the season,” Bush added.
On Monday, Jets linebacker Calvin Pace suggested it was more than talk. Pace said the the Jets wanted to put Bush “on out.” Pace later claimed that the Jets weren’t trying to injure Bush.

BTW, I think I heard Scaub lost part of his ear when his helmet went flying off there.

And anyone that didn't watch the game (I don't know why they didn't point this out in the highlights), I think Schaub was hit in the head the play right before that also (it was flagged too). Completely different topic but there's no way he doesn't have a concussion, and shouldn't play next week but we know how that will turn out.
He was destroyed in the play before too, yes.

so what, he got suspended because the hit was too hard? I doesn't say anything about hitting too hard in the NFL rule book. It was a helmet to helmet hit, I don't care how hard the hit was, it should be treated like every other helmet to helmet hit, and he should have just got a fine.

Von Miller got hit with a flag for driving the qb into the ground well after the ball was gone. Mays got the suspension because he lowered his head and launched himself at the qb without making any effort to wrap up.

The two hits are quite similar, but the difference is technique. Von Miller actually attempted a tackle, wrapped him up and drove him to the ground.

Look at Mays' arms and legs in his hit - which is what it is - not a tackle. He lowered his helmet, and delivered a hit, arms out to his side, no attempt at the ball, or a tackle, and launched into him to do it... making it more egregious and much more dangerous for both himself and the person he hit.

This is one of those hits that feeds the 'well lets play without helmets' crowd because when you are clearly using it as a weapon it's an easy flag/fine and possible suspension every time.

I don't really see the difference between the Schuab hit and the one on Romo from the TB game.

He was fined for roughing the week prior, and I think we're beyond warnings for the obvious head hunting despite 'well i play fast' apologies.
