If we are moving a team, I'd prefer we keep it at one team. Negates this whole mess and L.A. doesn't need two teams anyway. Would also prefer it be one of the California teams and not St. Louis.

Re: NFL Off Topic
Y'all really think the league cares about history and tradition that much when there's talks of an 18 game season, expanded playoffs, etc? Even Mark Davis said he didn't care if it took changing conferences to get a new stadium.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
Not sure what an 18 game season or expanded playoffs has to do with long standing traditional rivalries....Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
It has to do with the league caring about history vs money. In the end, just like with realignment in college sports, money trumps all. I don't think half the owners give a damn about rivalries, they just care about the bottom line.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
No one disagrees with that, but a team playing in a different conference affects bottom line how?Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
Like I said, Raiders owner said he was willing to move to NFC. Shows he doesn't care about the rivalries and wants the new stadium badly, since it'll probably bring in more money in the long term.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
You said the league doesn't care because of expanded seasons and playoffs lol.
I'll never argue with you that Mark Davis will do anything for a new stadium.

Re: NFL Off Topic
Last I heard, the league doesn't care about expanded playoffs as much as they did since Goodell said recently he's not sure if he'll have the support for it.
and Oakland will make money regardless of what conference it's in. But what Davis is doing isn't much different than any other Owner that wants/wanted to get a new stadium. Make all types of threats about moving, etc and then ultimately get it.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: NFL Off Topic
My point in bringing up expanded season I guess was the league not caring about the records and stats part of history I guess. But yeah that was a bit of a reach. I still don't think most owners give a rat's *** about rivalries imo.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
Mark Davis may not care, but Al might have.
I don't think having SD and OAK in the same division sharing a stadium is that big a deal but I can see why other owners wouldn't want it. It sucks because those are historically significant AFC teams and breaking them up does hurt that legacy a bit.
But it's also 2015 and sometimes history needs to be altered. Since WSH has been brought up, that's a similar stance. Redskins might be what they've always been called, but it is a word that offends people and is only recently being called in to question. Sometimes things change over history, what was okay before is no longer the case. If it comes down to it, SD should go to the NFC, but OAK sounds like they have no qualms if SD balks.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds
