Canning Mike Smith in ATL would be stupid. I know it's been a disaster year, and they've fallen short in the playoffs, but I think that's a quick bounce back team. Unless there's some superstar coach that wants in, it would be wise to ride it out with him for at least another year. If that's a stinker, probably gotta rethink your whole team.

Smith deserves a mulligan IMO. The Falcons caught the injury bug and they've played the league's toughest schedule. I think they have a chance of being next year's Kansas City.

Smith and Shanahan both deserve to stay another year.

Barry Church? The Barry Church that plays for the Cowboys? For DPOY?

Not a Cam fan at all but I agree that he deserves serious consideration. Great turn around year, but he needs to stop throwing INTs.

No way Cam should be in the conversation for MVP, neither should Wilson.

I really love Cam, he's one of my favorite players to watch, and Wilson is also amazing in his own right.

BUT, they both have amazing defenses and good(CAR)/great(SEA)run games.

If you put let's say a Josh McCown type of player in place of Cam, Carolina probably wins 2-3 games less than with Cam. Same goes for Seattle.

But, if you put him in place of Tom Brady, the Patriots don't sniff the playoffs.

I know Peyton's gonna win the MVP and rightfully so, he's putting up video game numbers, but for me it's gotta be Tom Brady. Winning games with Julian Edelman, Aaron Dobson and Kenbrell Thompkins as your main receivers while not having that much of a defense? Simply amazing.

Coach of the year goes to Andy Reid, with Sean Payton a distant second.

OROY should be Gio Bernard in my opinion, even though I'm not terribly impressed by any rookie on offense.

DROY has to go to Kiko Alonso, he's a one man wrecking crew.

DPOY will probably go to Sherman, and you really can't argue against that. I also really like Robert Mathis, he's playing like a man possessed.

To say that Cam should not be in the discussion for MVP is just naive. So is all this if he was in this offense or that. Bottom line Cam is having a good year and should absolutely be in the conversation for the award.

Agree so much of what they've done on Offense has been the sole function of Cam. Their running backs have been injured and he's just stepped in and done the rushing himself whether it's on the Read option, or Scrambling out of busted pass plays.

Since people want to base the DPOY strictly on stats, absolutely.

The Texans are having a terrible year, but JJ Watt isn't. Don't forget him when discussing DPOY.

I think ubernoob was just mentioning underdogs that he'd vote for.

I think because of the Texans terrible year, Watt has a chance not to get it. It's rare that a player gets it when they're on a team that doesn't make the playoffs. It's only happened 6 times.

IMO, there's 5 teams that the DPOY is going to come from.. the Seahawks, 49ers, Broncos, Bengals or Chiefs.

I think Ziggy Ansah should get a little DROY consideration. Probably not a serious threat to win, but his edge containment has been really solid, and 7 sacks in 9 games is nothing to sneeze at. Of course when special attention is paid to Suh/Fairley most people will discount his production.

No love for the Carolina D? Kuechly and Thomas Davis have been really good this year, but I can understand them being overlooked. The D is more a sum of the parts.

                                MD Jennings for DPOY.

No player has had more of an effect on the game every week than him.

Of course, his effect is incompetence, but he's the most important defensive player in the league... for the 31 other teams' offenses.
