As I said in the game thread, Moss did the same thing several years ago with the Vikes and a couple of teammates ripped him publicly.

The NFL saw a new high in total points scored on a single day, which will probably become most points in a single week (monday game still to be played) (Giants adding nothing to the total lol). I think that is the second time they've broken the record this year. (Week 14?)

Teams scored the most TDs in a week last week, I think.

There was also a huge ****storm over that too.

It's amazing how this is now becoming a trend rather than a blip. You're correct that this happened last week as well. The previous record before last week was in 2008 so this crazy amount of scoring seems to have be a trend that's started since the Millennium.

            You are correct.

I wonder if the rule changes deliberately designed to hamper defense has anything to do with that? It's kinda hard to play defense with (proverbial) handcuffs on.

Btw they didn't break the record this week. Came up short by 16pts.

Aaron Rodgers looms...as bad as that defense is...that is a BAD man. I would easily put money on GB in the playoffs.

As far as the NFC Play Off picture the only 2 teams I think that can go into Seattle and have even a chance of winning are Green Bay because of Rodgers, and San Francisco because of Division familiarity and their D'.

The AFC Picture is a little more clear cut I think we're obviously headed for another New England/Denver; Brady/Manning rematch in the AFC Title game. If Baltimore gets in they have the potential to go on another run; but really they aren't as good as the team they had last season.

Did anyone else see the total of Taunting penalties this weekend that were called against players not celebrating a TD? At last count there were 6. I have not seen this call that many times in one day.

Agreed on both, but I also think Carolina matches up very well with Seattle. That defensive front 7 is very good and would cause problems for the offensive line. Well actually, it already did cause problems for the offense in week 1.

I dunno about another Brady/Manning match up in a AFC Championship game. Baltimore could easily knock either out. I will also go as far as to predict neither Denver or New England come out of the AFC. Denver's defensive and New England's defensive ( even greater liability), and that offense. Have you seen the offense? It's not pretty.

Out of all the QBs that could be in the playoffs Cam Newton would be the lowest on my list of people that can go into that environment against that secondary.

Probably right, but it's not Cam that makes me think Carolina could win. It's the defense. They might not even need Cam to play all that well to win if the defense shows up.

I wouldn't count KC out. Offense can put up points and that defense is good. Come playoff time when the refs allow the defense to play a little, having one as good as that pays off big time.

The league is so wide open this year, anyone can make the Super Bowl.
