I wish every game was like that Philly/Lions game.. Can't wait for 2-years at TCF Bank Stadium.

Unless there is a blizzard during the game, the actual game would be fine and the area around the game would be ok. They can melt a lot of snow at the stadium, so that won't be the problem. The real problem is that no one would be able to get to the game. You would have to clear a lot of snow from the highways and roads in the area to just get people from offsite parking to the game. That doesn't include how people are getting to the parking lots.

Most people won't be staying in NJ, they will be in NYC up until gameday.

I don't know about New Jersey, or New York City, but in the Capital Region of New York, highways and major roadways get cleared quite quickly.

I'm not sure what you're arguing from the beginning then. That since it's legal in Washington, the NFL shouldn't care? Don't see what you're getting at. This is one of the cases where it's EXACTLY like other places of work. If rules say we pay you X amount of money and you're not allowed to do Y, then you don't do Y. Whether that's drinking on the job, or smoking weed period, you don't do it. Many companies in the public eye have a rule against being seen in a bar with company gear on. The rule is clear and he's broken it multiple times.

I'm not sure it's all of sudden. Otherwise the SB wouldn't have been at warm weather places or domes year after year.

We'll see how that works with the SB. Especially with the other rules they put in place. NYC functions in bad weather bc so many people already take public transportation. Bringing all of these extra people in who will be on the roads, and not even allowed different means of transportation... I don't see it going well.

I want snow to because then the Patriots have a advantage if they make it to the super bowl. Think, if the Saints get to the super bowl(I think they will) they won't be used to playing in a blizzard.

I hope it's a clear night with no precipitation anywhere near the region so every single person who is pissing their pants and writing essays about the weather on a specific date a month and a half from now can shut the **** up about it.

Well I was talking more in general, it seems the NFL gets very antsy even when a thunderstorm is coming into the area whereas just 15-20 years ago it wasn't a big deal and if there was lightning that was RIGHT there they'd hold up play. We've seen situations where even a big snow storm caused consternation though in that case they were probably right to err on the side of caution and cancel the game til Wednesday.

I assume you're not saying I'm whining... especially since I'm hoping for a blizzard also. From my couch the game will look just fine. From the site, I hope it's more of a cluster f than Dallas was.

15-20 years ago is a long time compared to the traveling circus they've made the event now. They actually talked about the game at half time back then (what a concept). The NFL doesn't know when to say when, and I hope this blows up in their face, if only so Dan Snyder doesn't start crying about wanting a SB in Washington.

This. I hope it makes the 2002 Raiders/Patriots playoff game look like a light sprinkling of snow.

For those that don't know. The NFL drug testing policy is designed to catch idiots.

If you have never failed a test (the majority of players). You get tested twice a year:

                          1. Once at the start of training camp
                          2. Once "randomly" during the course of the regular season.
-Once your name pops up you have a full 24 hours to supply a sample. There is no reason to miss a test, as the NFL has local testers that can be anywhere in the world within 60 minutes of a player notifying them of their location. (which is why failure to supply a sample counts as a drug failure.)

That means that you basically have to stop smoking weed (snorting cocaine, dropping acid, etc) at the beginning of July. You have to be drug free from July 1 until the Super Bowl if you are clean, which all players are coming into the NFL.

If you are dumb enough to get caught, then you are tested randomly up to three times a week for upto 2 years anytime, and randomly during the season after that 2 years (again stop during the season).

This policy is designed to only catch idiots. As the late Gene Upshaw (RIP) knew players used drugs in the off-season and negotiated a policy to protect them, during the off-season. Brandon Brower and the rest of them that are in the NFL drug program are dumb asses and no one should feel bad for them. Seriously, you could be one of the Sosa brothers from February to July and never pop positive on a NFL drug test, but there are some real special kids in the NFL....

Interesting. I was reading an article this morning and it was going in depth with the Cowboys and everyone who takes shots at Romo being responsible for there failures this year. Of the 7 Cowboy losses, Romo has thrown 17 Touchdowns and 3 INT's in those games. Of course, the INT's in the Denver and Green Bay game cost them those particular games.
