Re: NFL Off Topic
Jerry Jones said he's all for playoff expansion because, and I'm paraphrasing, "it would be easier for Dallas to make the playoffs".
So basically Jerry is saying one of the only ways Dallas can make the playoffs is if they let more teams in lol.Boston Red Sox

Re: NFL Off Topic
Expansion discussion tabled, no vote until the fall at the earliest. So no playoff expansion in 2014.

Re: NFL Off Topic
This is the same Jerry Jones who pushed for a salary cap in the early 90's. The same Jerry Jones who had one of the most dominating dynasties, in it's youth, hitting it's prime. You know, a team that could have bought more pieces to aid some guys named Aikman, Emmitt, Irvin, Deion, Haley, Allen, etc and kept a Yankee-like dynasty going for a decade+. But instead, he wanted to do what was right for the league so the Seattle's and Tampa Bay's of the league could compete with the big boys and big dollars. It's not always about self-serving, it's about the betterment of the league.
But in this case, Jerruh, you are wrong! NO MORE PLAYOFF TEAMS!Last edited by elgreazy1; 05-20-2014, 12:44 PM.Comment

Seriously, guy made a joke about JJ. Not a big deal. And you're kidding yourself if you think Jones didn't think his team was going to be on the top of the mountain forever. If he had a crystal ball and saw the decade+ of average at best Cowboy teams, I'm positive he would've gone another way with that decision.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
Too bad fans don't want expanded playoffs. I wouldn't mind seeing that. I know people like the current format but at the same time...it's abit outdated. When they first had 12 team format,NFL had 28 teams. They've added 2 teams extra per conference and 0 playoff spots have been added?
7 each seems like a good amount, 8 would be even better and would match NBA and NHL. But even with 7, it'd be good because then only the best team in the AFC and NFC would get a BYE and it opens up 1 more playoff spot so things get much more important as finishing with top seed would be so much more important and interest level for other teams would increase too.
It's not like we'll get below .500 teams in the playoffs with 1 extra spot. 2013 for example,7 teams would've meant AFC would've been so much crazier cause Jets,Dolphins,Steelers,Ravens would've all been tied, so it would've made the final few weeks so much more intense. NFC the Cards would've made it but it'd would've given Cowboys and Bears fans some more hope. Broncos would've been crowned AFC Champs and Seahawks NFC Champs and each team would be only ones with a BYE into 2nd round.Comment

How'd that work out for him?

Re: NFL Off Topic
NFL may be in some trouble over this. NFL illegally supplying pain meds to players. Now some of this is the players doing it themselves, but some is definitely the team members supplying the drugs. I'm not sure what will come of this. The teams/NFL could have to pay, but the players are admitting that they committed crimes also.
