Re: NFL Off Topic
Amazing somebody could make Gary Bettman actually look like a better commissioner.Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.
It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
People like Troy Vincent shouldn't be allowed to be run popcorn booth let alone serious business.
The severity of punishments that they have tried to impose on Brady and Patriots is completely not present in the the rule book and arbitrarily weight on, based their personal grudge.
Any other team/player would have be punished 50/25k, but any other team didn't prevent Vincent and others from wining SB.
Whole thing was just petty and low class.Godell is taking hit for trusting wrong self serving people.Last edited by tariq071; 09-03-2015, 02:07 PM.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
My opinion hasn't changed on Brady. Nor has my opinion changed on the actual incident in question.
But, it has to be said, I expected this ruling because Roger Goodell is inconsistent at best, and completely incompetent at worst, when it comes to how he chooses to hand out punishment. Constantly setting new precedents with every ruling he doles out.
That said, I wonder how far the NFL will take this. This has to end at some point, right?jWILLComment

Re: NFL Off Topic
It's actually a pretty big deal. Hardy announcing his appeal is the first sign of that. Judges overruling the powers granted in the CBA will likely open the flood gates for players wanting to run to court if they don't like Goodell's ruling.
Also consider the judge specifically speaks on the player not knowing the potential punishment. Now the common punishment for domestic violence in the NFL was about 2 games when Ray hit his wife. That's what the commissioner gave him and all hell broke loose, but imagine now the commissioner correcting a flaw in previous punishment by increasing on the fly. Rice goes to court and the judge says it's an unfair penalty bc the player didn't previously know the potential punishment?
This is far from over unfortunately, but the results are more significant than I think many know.Comment

True, all of that is interesting, but most of the discussion this whole time seemed to boil down to braindead talk-radio style pro-Brady vs anti-Brady meme wars.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
Every single time a person, with no ties to the NFL, looks at Goodell's decision making, on discipline, he/she basically says "Huh? What is going on here?". Fascinating to me.Last edited by dsallupinyaarea; 09-03-2015, 03:52 PM.NFL - Vikings
