They should just put Thursday games on CBS indefinitely.

Re: NFL Off Topic
They should just get rid of them completely.
But....$$$, so that's not happening unfortunately.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: NFL Off Topic
What I read on Thursday games is that the main bidders will be CBS (who has the upper hand), FOX, NBC and Turner. ESPN isn't in on it with their current financial situation. Online is doubtful.
Fox and NBC would likely put them on NBCSN/FS1 if either were to get them is the thought.Originally posted by BlueNGoldI feel weird for liking a post about exposed penises.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
I'm cool with all of those. Hate that half TNF games are on an extended network (NFLN).NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

ESPN has been experiencing the pains of over expansion and are losing some money. They went through a round of layoffs a couple or so months ago. Interestingly, their Canadian partner (Bell Media) just a week or two ago went through the same thing and some of their layoffs even included on air people. At least ESPN hasn't gotten that point.
This is not to say that ESPN is losing money but rather Disney is trying to maximize as much profit as they can by increasing the profit margins even if it means laying production people off rather than doing the more sensible thing and curtailing or shutting down some of the needless affiliate networks.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: NFL Off Topic
ESPN is losing some money. Subs dropped 6 million since I believe 2012. Which is a pretty big drop. As more people cut the cord ESPN will need to find new ways to drive revenue.

Re: NFL Off Topic
Only reason I could think of is of their regular Thursday TV schedule brings more viewers than TNF.

Re: NFL Off Topic
They don't have regular Thursday night programming because they've had the NFL for a few years but the other networks do.
Plus, csbsports reaches far less viewers than some of those other ancillary channels.Comment

No, advertisers don't like paying the same amount for commercials that will reach less of an audience.
And CBS won't want to charge less for advertisements.Comment
