I don't believe for a second the Panthers move. They have a huge foothold in the Carolinas.

That said, Richardson said the stadium is still great so who is to be believed?

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

Except it's hard to really tell, so where will you draw the line and who makes the call? The same doctor can't be at every game.

They just need to get with technology and put sensors in all helmets. Then monitor them and set a threshold. Over X and you have to pass test, over Y and you are out automatically.

That may be the only way to stop defenders from using their helmets.

I don't see why they need a dome, hate that everyone is building domes. Not sure how the stadium was built, but if it is like Everbank, it can be upgraded without starting over. Don't know if they have spent money or not over the years to keep it upgraded.

Paying 2-3 billion and then +1 billion for a new stadium will be a lot of money.

So people just won't get diagnosed then. That's not good.

We lost a great one folks.

Dick Enberg has died at the age of 82

He was one of the most versatile sports broadcasters ever as he was not just a jack of all trades he was a master at calling different sports. He will be most remembered for football and baseball but he was excellent at calling basketball and tennis as well. One of the great things about Enberg is that unlike the other #1 PBP football guys of his generation he had to juggle around with other guys as his color analysts unlike Al Michaels and Pat Summerall who basically had their guy(s) throughout the bulk of their careers. Enberg had Merlin Olsen for 10 years but then went through Bill Walsh, Bob Trumpy and Simms & Maguire for the last 9 years of his career as a #1 NFL PBP guy.

I have many good memories of watching Enberg and hearing his famous "Oh My!" call although I have one distinct OS related memory involving Enberg when a poster back in the day complained bitterly about the way Enberg pronounced Mark Sanchez's last name.

Anyways, R.I.P. to one of the great ones. So many of our great sports voices are fading into the memory now

Enberg was one of the best. I know he did Super Bowls, Wimbledon, etc., but every time I see his name I think of him and Merlin Olson broadcasting an AFC West showdown.

The stadium is still great. Charlotte just paid $85M from taxes to upgrade and renovate. The new ownership, especially if it's not one of the current minority owners, will use relocation as leverage to get a new stadium built. You can almost guarantee it. Likely a retractable roof to host the super bowl

I was checking NFL roster bonuses on ESPN & found this one:

                  Mark Ingram:RB (Saints)

                  Salary: $5.345 million

Bonuses: Ingram’s contract will void a year early, making him a free agent after this season if he is named a first-team All-Pro by the Associated Press. The All-Pro team has one running back spot and one flex position for the entire league, regardless of conference.

What kind of roster bonus is that? That's a roster punishment instead of a roster bonus. I have never seen a roster bonus made out this way before.

It seems like a bonus to me. If Ingram balls out and makes a all pro team he can go and get money in free agency and if he doesn't it's like that bonus was never there. Sounds good for Ingram but I don't know why the saints agreed to it

There's a starting pitcher in baseball who's name I've forgotten who has a clause in his contract that if he gets a single Cy Young or MVP vote, he gets a crazy bonus. There was a story that writers saw this and were going to basically ban together to make sure he doesnt get a vote because they (the writers) don't want to be involved in a clause like that...

Maybe the football writers are equally petty, and by putting this clause in they know they won't vote Ingram in to trigger it.

I don't even know if Ingram is having the best RB season on his team nevermind in the entire league. My vote for first team All-Pro would be for either Gurley or Bell.

Considering how they handle some players in regards to the HOF, I wouldn’t put it past them.

Ingram’s been balling out and what’s been more impressive to me is that he’s been more consistent this and of course healthy too. Def been one of the best RBs in the league this year.

With the way NFL contracts are, that is a pretty significant bonus. His value would never be higher than if he has a season like that.

I also don't think the Saints thought that this guy would ever be first team All-Pro, lol

2018 was never going to happen at the current price. Either he gets out of the deal, they cut him, or they renegotiate. His cap hit is too high.

So giving him the option didn't really matter as it was really just a 3 yr deal.

At 29, he can still sign 1 more good contract.
