Hey I'm just trying to look out for the best interest of the Steelers and the player. If you let him play through this what's next? Speeding is a gateway crime

Re: NFL Off Topic
I was listening to an interview with Don Banks yesterday and they were talking about the Cowboys. Apparently in league circles Jason Garrett is known as "The Clapper" LOL! He earned that nickname as apparently he's all rah rah but does nothing in terms of X's and O's.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Do they get a compensatory pick if he was never technically under contract?Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
Presumably, the Steelers could tag him again next offseason at the same figure they did this year if he doesn't sign and play this year.
However, that's a bit unclear so who knows? Not to mention that it may not be something they'd actually do.
At this point, I'm more than done with Bell and his BS. Let him go get paid by some crap team with a ton of cap space and get his a** beat while Connor runs clean behind one of the best (THE best according to PFF) offensive lines in the league.
Whatever ends up happening, I'm happy to move forward with Connor and $14+ million to spend on the defense next offseason.Comment

So that whole "he has to report by XX date or he can't become a free agent" was wrong all along? I mean how could reporters get such an important and essential point to the story so wrong?OSHA Inspector for the NBA.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
They were talking on NFL Network today that by sitting out the year, Bell essentially "skips" the second-year franchise tag. If the Steelers franchise him again, it would be under a third-year franchise tag. No way the Steelers do that with what it will cost.
They'll probably put the transition tag on him, but they won't get any compensation if he signs elsewhere and they don't match.Comment
