I wouldn't be surprised Dallas tries to get into the Sean Payton sweepstakes if they lose against the Bucs this weekend.

I've even heard it go so far as to say McCarthy will only be back if the Cowboys win the Super Bowl.
I wholly expect Payton to be Dallas' next head coach. and maybe even their first ''true'' GM since Tex Schramm

He’s talked about wanting to do TV for awhile so I imagine that’ll be happening eventually.

Plus he’s still young enough to where he could step away from coaching and still get back into it.

When will a serious conversation about the questionable integrity of the league begin?

After multiple controversial officiating decisions in Sunday's Rams-Seahawks game, multiple executives and coaches said the NFL needs to reevaluate how it chooses and trains its officiating staff for future seasons.

Like it or not the Jones family has done a pretty good job of putting good enough talent on the field for quite a while now. While Jerry is a distraction he has let his son have his way in regards to drafting more times than not, and Dallas has drafted pretty well.

Their problems do not lie in the front office IMO, UNLESS the front office is affecting game-day decisions.

The ones that aren't purely bigotry are almost always based in emotions because the team is not a Super Bowl contender in a particular year or they just lost a game or they are behind in the 2nd quarter. They are spoiled by success and blame anything that goes wrong on Mike Tomlin while putting little or no blame on players, other coaches, or front office and scouting personnel. They couldn't blame the HOF QB and they can't pin this year solely on a rookie QB so they blame Tomlin.

Tomlin gets blamed for every loss and every win is in spite of his being there. There's no considering the fact that New England had a 20-year dynasty that all but destroyed the entire AFC's chance of real success. He won with "Cowher's players".

I could go on and on but you get the picture.

Thinking is hard, blaming is easy. Some take the path of least resistance.

Hey, that feeling or pattern of thought likely permeates amongst many "successful" fanbases.

I know from speaking with certain Spurs fans that they depise Gregg Popovich and attribute all his success to Tim Duncan. They rag on him for his mistakes and failures as if he's the worst coach in the NBA. It is both infuriating and fascinating to read and hear about.

Probably some competition committee recommendations in the off-season to help mitigate some of these circumstances, and unreported changes for refs, little else.

They can't allow anything like that to happen. Like mestevo said, keep it quiet within the league but keep any outside discussion shutdown. Opening up this can exposes how many mistakes are made every game. Simple things like spotting the ball aren't even correct.

It's crazy to think that if DJ Moore kept his damn helmet on, the Panthers would be in the playoffs instead of the Bucs.

Or if the refs knew the actual rules. That was the third game of the year that a missed/incorrect call cost the Panthers a win.

This Buffalo - Carolina swap has got to stop. You've accidentally taken our referee curse. You're losing games on blown calls while we're getting away with 12 men on the field and ****.

I was not aware that there was controversy behind the call. I just read up on it.

I'm not taking blame away from him still.

You're forgetting (or ignoring) that Pineiro still only had a 48 yard FG after the penalty, then had a 35ish yarder in OT that he also missed. Who knows if he would've made the XP without the penalty.

I'm assuming all things the same with the kicks angle and such. An extra 15 yards closer and that ball looks to be in (my opinion only).

I do blame Piniero for his OT miss, but that is blame after what I believe should have already been game over, and that's just the nature of the game to miss here and there. Moore just needs to keep his helmet on, which is a conscious decision and not based on ability (off a tremendous throw and catch too, which we of course have to give him credit for).

As far as timing of incident, that's why my narrative on the Rams-Saints egregious non-DPI call is shifted to the notion that Payton and Brees just had to run the damn ball three times instead of making silly throws. I blame them before the refs. And nobody still knows that Scotty Miller was DPI-ed just as obviously before that fateful RTP call on Brady against Atlanta.

Either way, I was just pointing more to the craziness that their fate lands on somebody removing their helmet. Crazy.
