My pick is J.J. Watt. To me he is the guy that has separated himself from everyone else at his position. QB's in contention are interchangeable, there is no one at Watt's level at his position right now and nobody is impacting games like this guy. I'd give him MVP and Tillman DPOY. But because the NFL is an "offensive league" Watt will not win MVP.

I'm not claiming Miller is better, but if you are going to make an argument for MVP for Watt because of his impact, Miller would have to be included as well.Comment

I know they aren't the same position but Von Miller is impacting the Denver defense nearly on the same level as Watt is impacting the Texans defense.

Re: MVP Discussion Thread
Between Rodgers and Manning for me as of right now, Brees could be a wild card if he somehow manages to lead his team to a playoff spot but that's unlikely right now with their tough schedule down the stretchSaints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

Brees isn't winning over Manning or Rodgers even if the Saints win out. Manning story combined with his amazing stats are to great for anyone to over come. He's a feel good story that will be milked to death.Comment

Re: MVP Discussion Thread
I didn't even go over to Rodgers' stats but I'm sure they're comparable if not better than Manning's. So yes, I think he will probably get it due to his come back story but I don't feel he deserves it more than a couple other players. If anything you could make a stronger argument for Von Miller who has been a fixture on that defense for the past two seasons before going with Manning.Comment

Re: MVP Discussion Thread
I wouldn't go that far, and it also depends on what your definition of MVP is. I don't think Brees would be a lock if the Saints win out, but if starting out 0-4 and finishing up with an 11-5 record with no major personnel additions doesn't put you into the conversation I don't know what does. And I'm not really sure what you mean by his amazing stats, hes thrown two less Int's than Brees and has a lightly better passer rating, Brees has him beat in passing TD's, rushing TDs, and passing yards.

Re: MVP Discussion Thread
It means pretty much the same thing as every other point thats been brought up in this debate. How many other teams have came out of an 0-4 hole and finished a season 11-5 recently? This is all hypothetical at this point but if it happens would it have been possible without Brees? That's why I stated it really depends on what your personal definition is of MVP.Last edited by ABR173rd; 11-25-2012, 07:21 AM.Comment

If Brees were to win it would be bc of what was done over the course of the entire season, no bc the team crapped the bed out of the gate before getting things right. Maybe if he were suspended the first 4 games but he was a part of the team that was crapping the bed... this season.Comment

Tom Brady
2,976 yards 21 TD 3 INT
His team's defense is pathetic. Basically needs to lead a scoring drive every offensive possession.Comment
