It's Peyton's to lose, especially since he'll have the "Comeback Story" in the Voter's back pocket.

I'd be a bit surprised if it's anybody but him, to be honest.

Yeah I was curious about that statement as well, Decker and Thomas, above average ground game, and a pretty solid defense. If anything I would say the Broncos are a pretty big upgrade over the current Colts team. Tebow not only took this team to the playoffs but won a playoff game as well.

Yea an dont they have a too 5 defense? Thomas is as talented as any Wr in the entire league.

Still didn't answer the question, not to mention I never brought up Matt Ryan, lol.

How has Peyton Manning "done more with less" than any other potential MVP candidate? If anything, that label fits more for Adrian Peterson than it would Manning.

Their defense is up there in certain category's I'm not sure right now if they are a top five but definitely a good defense. I'm also pretty sure Manning is one of the least sacked QB's in the league this year so definitely a top five offensive line.

I highly, highly doubt the Falcons without Ryan only win 2 games. 2 Pro Bowl WR's, HOF TE, and a solid defense. Not saying you could plug anyone back there, but come on.
As for Manning, the Broncos have played arguably the toughest schedule in the NFL so far, and although they fell behind, they always managed to come close to victory.

What is funny is you state you don't like what ifs here, and then previously mention the Falcons only win 2 games without Ryan.
The Colts had a horrible approach dealing with Manning's injury. They acted like it would never happen, so never prepared for it for one, and then just assumed it wasn't Manning that made the offense, the team. You put a decent QB on that Colts team, they are a highly competitive team.
I just think giving a MVP to the player on the team that finished with the best record is just a ridiculous thought.
i really hope Adrian Peterson starts racking up TD's to put more umph in his MVP case to be honest. 1,700 yards and 20 TD's getting the Vikings to a 9-7 record would do it IMO.
Don't mean to pick on you. This is more a reply to everyone that keeps bringing up Tebow winning a playoff game last year. Does anyone remember the season? The Broncos squeaked into the playoffs in a crappy division and had 3 or 4 dumb luck wins to get there. Continuing the trend, they played an insanely banged up team. The Steelers were far from a good team when they played that game. Ben could barely walk, the Oline was in shambles, as was the running game, and Clark, of course, couldn't even make the trip. The AFC West winner was probably the only team they had a shot of beating last year... and they almost did it. Personally, that game going into overtime said more to me about how bad the Broncos really were last year than anything else.

Close. They're 6th in total yards and 10th in points allowed. Peyton Manning is having a great year, but he's not the only reason for the Broncos' success.

Seriously, last years Broncos games probably will never happen again. Freakin miracles. Case in point, the Bears game.

                          Re: MVP Discussion Thread

Here is my Top 10 for MVP thru almost Week 10.

                          1. Peyton Manning, QB DEN
                          2012 Stats: 2,705 yards, 21 TD, 6 INT, 69.7%

                          - For obvious reasons Peyton has to be #1. No one knew how he would fare coming off of his career-altering neck surgery, so for him to be doing this well definitely puts him at #1. The Monday Night comeback vs. SD is also a big factor in me putting him at #1.

                          2. Matt Ryan, QB ATL
                          2012 Stats: 2,771 yards, 20 TD, 7 INT, 68.4%

                          - Matty Ice is have an awesome year and despite the loss to the Saints on Sunday, Ryan had already made an impact with late game drives to win a couple games. Yes he has great talent around him but Ryan is playing at a high-level this year and would be #1 if not for Peyton.

                          3. Aaron Rodgers, QB GB
                          2012 Stats: 2,383 yards, 25 TD, 5 INT, 67%

                          - Last year's MVP is at #3 because if Green Bay did not have him, one can only wonder where they would be right now. Without a top threat in Greg Jennings and an invisible running game, Rodgers has performed awesome in the past few games to bring his squad to 6-3 after the "Fail Mary."

                          4. Tom Brady, QB NE
                          2012 Stats: 2,645 yards, 18 TD, 3 INT, 64.8%

                          - Brady has been relatively quiet this year but is still putting together a really good 2012 campaign. Brady hasn't had to throw the ball around 60x a game this year as the Pats have established a better running game and a better defense then last year.

                          5. J.J Watt, DE HOU
2012 Stats: 10.5 Sacks, 10 Pass Deflections, 2 Fumble Recoveries

                          - J.J "Swatt" is at #5 on my MVP list because he is a game-changer for the Texans D. Leading the league in sacks and 10 pass deflections as a d-end is just incredible. If he keeps it up and does something spectacular, I would have no problem giving him the MVP.

                          6. Charles Tillman, DB CHI
2012 Stats: 7 Forced Fumbles (1 Recovery), 2 Interceptions both returned for TD's.

                          - "Peanut" Tillman is not far behind Watt for DPOY. As for MVP, he slots in right behind Watt and has been an amazing presence in the Chicago secondary. The 7 Forced Fumbles leads the league and his 2 pick sixes are tied for the lead with teammate Lance Briggs.

                          7. Adrian Peterson, RB MIN
                          2012 Stats: 1,128 yards, 7 Total TD, 5.8 YPC

                          - Besides Percy Harvin, AP "All Day" is one of the main reasons why the Vikings sit at 6-4 and it is amazing to think that he suffered a torn ACL at the end of 2011. Amazing comeback by Peterson who leads the league in rushing yards and looks to be better than ever.

                          8. Doug Martin, RB TB
                          2012 Stats: 862 yards, 8 Total TD, 5.0 YPC, 296 Rec. Yards

                          - The "Muscle Hamster" has been a huge reason why the Bucs are in contention for a wild card spot. After a decent start to the season, Martin has turned it on in recent weeks with big-play ability. The running game has helped open the passing game to free agent standout WR Vincent Jackson.

                          9. Arian Foster, RB HOU
                          2012 Stats: 872 yards, 12 Total TD, 3.9 YPC

                          - Foster slots in at #9 behind Doug Martin because the Texans D has been just as valuable. Foster has not had a great year in terms of yards per carry, which is under 4, but his ability to get into the end zone makes him a shoe-in for the top 10.

                          10. Reggie Wayne, WR IND
                          2012 Stats: 69 Rec, 931 yards, 3 TD

                          - I have Reggie Wayne at my 10th and final spot in the MVP race because Reggie has been amazing in 2012. I figured Wayne would do pretty well this year, with some rejuvenation since Andrew Luck was at QB, but I don't know if anyone could of seen these insane numbers being put up by a 34 year old.

                          Others Receiving Consideration
QB: Ben Roethlisberger, Andrew Luck, RGIII
                          WR: Brandon Marshall, A.J Green

                            WR: Brandon Marshall, A.J Green
Not a bad list, but to me, 1, 2 and 3 are interchangeable.

I'm not that quick to put Manning as #1 as others stated above you, he has a pretty darn good supporting cast around him.

Twelve names and no Percy Harvin? I don't know about that. No idea why Big Ben deserves any consideration either (or RG3 for that matter... pushing it with Luck but at least his team is 6-3).

Listing AJ Green opens the door up for a couple of other WRs also (none of which deserve to be mentioned IMO... but that's true for Green).
