    Re: Aaron Hernandez Saga

I mean does anybody believe this guy is like...an ok guy who just got wrapped up in the wrong crowd?

He sounds like one of the worst athletes...ever.

I'm not saying he's guilty or whatever...but man nothing positive comes from this guy.

The guy's life is over, so it's not like anything he does matters at this point or will change that.

Does Massachusetts have the death penalty? This guy could be headed in that direction, if so.

No, it was abolished in 1984.

If the Feds want to prosecute him they could go for the death penalty. He is accused of killing 3 people so it's certainly possible.

So the victims in this new indictment were "ambushed" and "executed" on their way home?

Supposedly, they have the car and the "alleged" weapon from the shootings. If that is true, sounds like a stronger case vs the first one.

So, if this all pans out in the end, I wonder if he would be classified as a serial killer, if, again, found guilty of the double homicide.

Three murders with "downtime" inbetween each one constitutes a serial killer. So he probably won't be considered one.

I remember this guy saying a month before the alleged double murder how thankful he was that Mr. Kraft set him up for life, and for putting trust in him to make the right choices.

I wonder if/how all this ultimately effects the Patriots. Will Bill Belichick be forced to testify? Hernandez did visit him at the combine when the heat turned up. Bill told him to get on a plane and head to California until things cool down.

Then you have the drop house. Reports of players hanging out there. More going on there than smoking a little weed?

Of course there could be wrongful death lawsuits coming their way too.

I doubt that the state would bring any charges. The families would have to decide if they wanted to try to sue them or not. There would also have to be evidence that the Pats used their fixers to cover up some of the stuff. It would probably be to hard to prove anything.

He won't be considered a serial killer, just a homicidal gang banger.

Actually what denotes one as a "serial killer" has nothing to do with multiple killings and downtime. It has to do with a killer's mindset, his psyche, patterns etc. They could have found that he's killed 6 more people and it wouldn't exactly quantify him as a serial killer. Its not just about the number, its about patterns, why a certain choice of victim, etc.

I wouldn't consider Aaron Hernandez a serial killer. What he IS is more of an idiot who's got a violent nature coupled with the fact that he's watched too many gang banger movies. He's just the poster child of what happens when "Keepin' it Real Goes Wrong". He's no different than other young men out there packing heat, thinking they are OG's, popping off rounds, thinking shooting someone because because of a spilled drink or a scuffed Jordan make him look hard, and looking hard is sexy and powerful in their minds.

He's just an idiot who had access to firearms basically.
