A corner from Lindenwood and a defensive end from Bloomsburg have been drafted before AJ McCarron.

The non-Hollywood factor.

McCarron's biggest attribute was his "winning" persona. If people were turned off by his persona, then there isn't much left.Boston Red Sox

Same reason the Brady and Russell Wilson were passed on so many times. Sometimes everyone is wrong.Comment

Because teams like other players? I don't think his lack of edge, or whatever other non football aspect, is hurting him.Comment

Re: 2014 NFL Draft Discussion Thread
I would agree there.. but lightning in a bottle doesn't happen all the time.. and I would say Brady and Wilson are way more cerebral QB's than AJ. Russell has a super high football (and general) IQ, and Brady's football IQ is off the charts. There were other things there that kept them from going higher than they were. People didnt like Brady's body, or speed, or thought his arm wasnt that good.. Wilson was short.. and in a draft class where the spotlight was all about Luck and RGIII.... but Wilson and Brady still had "something" about them that translated directly to the QB position..and I'm not talking about a "winning attitude". They had something real.. and this is why I think no matter where those two got drafted they both have had success in the NFL... I don't think AJ is Russell Wilson or Tom Brady.__________________________________________________ ____

Re: 2014 NFL Draft Discussion Thread
Maybe it's an ON the field issue, ya know...that thing that players get paid to do? Play a game? In between some white lines? Hell, maybe teams don't like him as much as they like what they have, concerns with his arm strength, maybe he isn't a scheme fit? God forbid we avoid drafting a guy because of an on-the-field question mark.Check out my Houston Astros Dynasties:
