Do you want to sell Manzeiel Jerzies or win games for the long haul? Best QB in the draft? Being the best QB in college doesnt always translate to NFL greatness. Tim Tebow (who I dont like) is arguably the greatest COLLEGE QB ever... but that didn't pan out so well in the NFL. Being a Texas Kid who went to a Texas college is not enough reason to blow your number 1 pick on him WHEN you have a draft class this deep and you have a once in a generation player at his position available to you (Clowney). If this were the year Luck was in the draft.. totally different story but Johnny is not Andrew L. I'm sorry, if I'm a Texans fan I want my team to get better, I don't want a highlight reel.

Truth is the Texans had a crappy year for a lot of reasons that don't have the last name Schaub. Injuries, defense has holes in it, etc. Manzeil might very well be the best QB on the board, but if you look at players besides position, he might not even be in the top 10 best players in the draft...and you are a team that needs a little bit of everything.

So here's a question. Do you think a healthy and protected Vick is better than a Manzeil? Absolutely... without question. Manziel might not even be a long term starting solution for a team.. we just don't know. You have the number 1 pick. and a TON of talent in this draft.. Id rather them Sign Vick to a 1-2 year deal, draft Clowney and unleash him and Watt on the QB's in the devisison. Here's the thing.. with Clowny Texans might go 8-8 next year.. with Manzeil they might go 8-8 and 3 years later Clowney is probably the best defensive player in the NFL.. do you think Manziel will be the best QB in the NFL 3-5 years from now? NO NO NO.. he probably wont be cracking the top 10.

I get the whole cool factor of the kid who is Johnny Football..and I can see why some people want him there.. but it's not like he threw for 5000 yards and 50 TD's last year. Take the sure fire pick.. take Clowney, keep filling holes and to be honest you might find a QB early round 2 OR if someone you really like slips into the late first, trade up and get him.

Even if Clowney was NOT in this year's draft, I still don't think Manziel would be my first QB choice..and I still might be looking at a non-QB with that first pick. He's just not worth the number one pick in THIS YEAR's draft.

I really want Minnesota to grab Mack but I'm not sure if he still be there when Minnesota picks.

If I had to guess, dude is probably talking about Jimmy Garoppolo. Opinions on the kid vary, but it seems there is a group of scouts and teams that think he can be a damn good QB in the league. He isn't a first round guy (I don't think) and that would make him part of that group of "not the ones you're thinking of".

I've read articles saying he's not expected to last until the second round.

I saw his playoff game this year. I wouldn't say he's gonna light it up, but he looked pretty good.

Khalil Mack will be the best player from this draft.

*I will continue to shill for him with all bias possible no matter what you tell me.

Not saying he won't be. Am saying he definitely will not be the first player taken overall. And you can take that to the bank.

Wouldn't it be crazy if Mack ended up like Aaron Curry? Remember all the talk leading up to that Draft how Curry was the "Safest" pick in the entire Draft, How he was so polished and NFL ready he couldn't bust. He ended up going #4 overall and did next to nothing in Seattle, couldn't lock down a starting spot and is now out of the league.

Not saying that is what will happen to Khalil Mack at all, because he seems like a very instinctual; hard working young man. However we are hearing a lot of the same things as with Curry.

I couldn't help but think the same thing. I don't know how similar they are physically or how their play-styles relate, but this has been going through my head whenever I see people praise Mack.

You can say the same thing about every player in every draft, every year. What if Mack ended up like Lawrence Taylor because at one point someone said a nice thing about both of them leading up to the draft? What if he ended like Matt Jones because they're both football players and someone said that they had talent? What if he ended up like Bugs Bunny because they both appeared on tv at one time?

The worst part about this time of the year are all the lazy and arbitrary comparisons people make.
