I think we all saw that one coming. I imagine he'll be with a new team in time for next season.Comment

Re: Thread for NFL players in trouble with the law
I'm definitely a fan of the name on the front of the jersey over the name on the back, and Ray deserves to be punished for the actions he did to damage HIS name. But the Ravens screwed this up as much as the NFL and I hope he gets paid every dime besides original 2 games he was set to miss.Comment

Re: Thread for NFL players in trouble with the law
Anyone seen anything that makes any kind of reasonable case in Rice's favor about his wrongful termination grievance?
As I understand it, it should be an open and shut denial, more of a hail mary for $$ than anything.Comment

Maybe, sounds like they're just sick of all the smoke, even if the fire turns out to be minimal.
"While this organization has a strong belief in due process and has demonstrated that over time, Ray has demonstrated a pattern of poor decision-making that has led to multiple distractions for this organization and this football team that can no longer be tolerated," General Manager Trent Baalke said in a statement.

The speeding while drunk is the one thing I'll never understand. Drunk drivers should be punished but those that speed should face harsher consequences IMO.

Re: Thread for NFL players in trouble with the law
Chris Johnson News:
Jets running back Chris Johnson has been arrested in his hometown of Orlando, Florida.
PFT has confirmed a report that Johnson was arrested on Friday for open carrying of a firearm, a second degree misdemeanor.
A league source tells PFT that Johnson does have a license to carry in Florida. But this arrest wasn’t just for carrying, it was for open carrying.
Johnson was once among the best running backs in football, and was the NFL’s offensive player of the year after setting an NFL record with 2,509 yards from scrimmage with the Titans in 2009. But he’s largely been a disappointment on the field in recent years.
Johnson signed a two-year, $4 million contract with the Jets last year, and after he ran for a career-low 663 yards and one touchdown last season, it’s entirely possible that the new coach and General Manager in New York will decide Johnson isn’t even worth $2 million a year anymore. This arrest won’t help his cause.#RespectTheCultureComment
