I think we all saw that one coming. I imagine he'll be with a new team in time for next season.

They're also set to have another proceeding to decide whether or not he'll get back pay for time missed, and how much.

I'm definitely a fan of the name on the front of the jersey over the name on the back, and Ray deserves to be punished for the actions he did to damage HIS name. But the Ravens screwed this up as much as the NFL and I hope he gets paid every dime besides original 2 games he was set to miss.

Anyone seen anything that makes any kind of reasonable case in Rice's favor about his wrongful termination grievance?

As I understand it, it should be an open and shut denial, more of a hail mary for $$ than anything.

Depends on of there were/was any kind of deal negotiations between the Ravens and NFL about his status.

Ray McDonald being investigated for an alleged sexual assault, police searched his home yesterday.

He has now been released by the 49ers.

Now to see how far the NFLPA will go to fight the new conduct policy.

So his previous case (that the 9ers let him play through all season despite the way all other cases were being handled) got thrown out, and then this comes just a month or so later... and he's released?

There's gotta be more to all of this.

Maybe, sounds like they're just sick of all the smoke, even if the fire turns out to be minimal.

"While this organization has a strong belief in due process and has demonstrated that over time, Ray has demonstrated a pattern of poor decision-making that has led to multiple distractions for this organization and this football team that can no longer be tolerated," General Manager Trent Baalke said in a statement.

Driving a hundred miles an hour when you're hammered is never a good look. That's how Ryan Dunn type incidents happen.

The speeding while drunk is the one thing I'll never understand. Drunk drivers should be punished but those that speed should face harsher consequences IMO.

                            Chris Johnson News:

Jets running back Chris Johnson has been arrested in his hometown of Orlando, Florida.

PFT has confirmed a report that Johnson was arrested on Friday for open carrying of a firearm, a second degree misdemeanor.

A league source tells PFT that Johnson does have a license to carry in Florida. But this arrest wasn’t just for carrying, it was for open carrying.

Johnson was once among the best running backs in football, and was the NFL’s offensive player of the year after setting an NFL record with 2,509 yards from scrimmage with the Titans in 2009. But he’s largely been a disappointment on the field in recent years.

Johnson signed a two-year, $4 million contract with the Jets last year, and after he ran for a career-low 663 yards and one touchdown last season, it’s entirely possible that the new coach and General Manager in New York will decide Johnson isn’t even worth $2 million a year anymore. This arrest won’t help his cause.

Searched his car for running a stop sign?

He should be slapped for not locking the gun up but it was licensed.
