It probably isn't a surprise but as Deion Sanders said, you're the young up and coming face of this league. You got to conduct yourself better than that.

Just look at Peyton Manning a couple years ago after getting killed against Seattle. He took accountability and handled the press well. Truth be told, Cam is young but it just continues the bad taste he's leaving with the media types.

I swear I'm not a Cam basher, but there's no defending him on that play.

With a loose ball right in front of him, he took a couple of steps, saw two Denver defenders, and stopped on a dime (or might have even retreated a little). There's no way of knowing if Cam even recovers that ball if he dives at it, but you gotta make the effort. A Denver fumble recovery seals the Super Bowl.

And yes, I realize the other 57 minutes of action mattered more on the outcome. That's a straw-man argument.

Eh I don't blame him or view that negatively. Losing the biggest game would suck. It seems the young guys don't handle it as well as the vets who have been in the league for a while and know losing is a part of the game.

I think Ray Lewis said it best when he said at the end of the year that feeling you have, 31 other teams will have that same feeling. What matters is what you do afterwards.

I guess I can troll a bit and say that if Cam wanted to win that badly he would have went for the fumble though

Super Bowl 50: Denver Broncos vs. Carolina Panthers Game Discussion Thread

I'll admit, I couldn't and wouldn't want to talk to anyone after losing one of the biggest games of my career. It wouldn't even be fair to the people asking me the questions because I wouldn't have any responses for them, especially right after the game.

Gimme a day or so and I'll be ok but right after the game, I couldn't do it. Those players on the Panthers who are speaking to Media are better than me(even though they have to talk to them)because I couldn't do that and I would've took the fine from the league.

I'm not a Cam fan, but he should be back within the next few years and win one. He's a good QB, just went up against a crazy good defense. Doesn't matter how good of a QB you are, when a great defense shows up, blitzes well, and covers receivers, not much you can do. Makes even the best QB's look like crap

Denver just did the same thing to Brady. Seahawlks to Manning.

Everyone talked about how Cam Newton was a better leader and all that. Being a "good leader" is easy when you're winning.

As long as he doesn't have to fall on a football, you're probably right.

Cam acting like a little bitch.

Beginning of the season posters were saying how he's matured and that stuff was 2 years ago.

                      This is who he is.

                      Of course the loss hurts.

                      But man the hell up.

I view the whole Cam Newton press conference thing like this. If you claim being a role model as a goal, you have to act better under these circumstances with the cameras on. Not saying I fault him, but that's just the way it is.

You just fed all your detractors the ammo they so desperately wanted.

Nah, he showed his improved leadership last year when they were 3-7-1, too. This was just a bad game for him all around.

Ya, I went back right after that play and watched that like 5 times, lol. Not sure what he was doing. Looked like he was trying to give it to Denver. Maybe he feared getting smacked by a lineman? Who knows.

Yeah and if you are gonna do that. I can agree take the fine and don't talk. But if you go out there to answer questions then do better than what he did. I would be fine if he skipped the media availability all together, but he didn't do that.

I know it's tough for Panther's fans but you'll have your time. Very solid team, you'll be back soon enough.
