A sample of questions Cam Newton was asked:

Can you put a finger on why Carolina didn't play the way it normally plays?

Anything in particular that was memorable?

Can you put into words the disappointment you feel right now?

I know you're disappointed not just for yourself, but for your teammates. It's got to be real tough.

Walking off the podium might have answered them.

Some people lose with grace, some don't. Not the end of the world.

A professional athlete who is used to winning all year and having fun doing it has the worst night of his career and he's supposed to give some meaningless, PC, PR press conference for our benefit?

He and his team played poorly in the face of a great defense. I'm sorry if I don't care what he has to say to asinine questions or that he isn't sitting up straight with a suit on.

But I understand this is an entertainment industry just as WWE is and people will cling on to any little thing they can to prove a point or scream, "look, I told you so."
He is a professional, thus he is an employee and thus he is representing a franchise. How would your boss react if you rolled around the workplace when something didn't go your way? Or how about if the media asked you about your company and you just got up and walked out? But nah, let's give him a pass. He had a bad day at work making those millions.

Cam had a fantastic year and has grown a lot, it seems, since the very beginning, but Cam will always be Cam. He might not be the most classically "mature" guy out there but I can think of guys who do a lot worse things than this. I'm glad he's angry. I hope he takes this failure and plants it like a seed so it grows and helps him build a foundation for future success.

He not might be acting like we want him to act, but he's being himself, and that's fine with me.

Do we sometimes forget that defenses can still take apart the offenses in this game?

My personal favorite "anything particular that was memorable?"

Nope. Nothing memorable about my 1st Super Bowl.

If the pay were the same for every job, then you would have a point. There's a reason why the Joe Schmos or the bottom of the todem pole do not talk for the company. When you are high on the totem pole or the face of a company or franchise, you are held to a standard.

Knowing Cam's disposition, walking across the field and congratulating Peyton is all I expected of him, and he did so.

Giving the media the cold shoulder at your post-SB loss press conference when they're shouting banalities like "Could you describe in words the disappointment you feel?" is not a big deal for me.

He won't act like a "professional" after every loss.
