While I'm not the biggest fan of ESPN NFL coverage and Berman can occasionally annoy me; I make sure to watch the last NFL Primetime each season that him and Tom Jackson do. Maybe it's the nostalgic of a childhood or the Primetime theme music but it's a must watch for me.

I don't think it was half assed. It was more caught in an awkward position to go for it after he already mentally thought the play was over. Kind of like earlier in the game when the Panthers players thought Norwood called a fair catch but didn't. They all basically stopped thinking the play was over and when they realized it wasn't it was to late to react properly. Again don't get me wrong, he ****ed up and made the wrong choice. I just think all this nonsense about him not wanting to get hurt or caring enough is silly.

Cam Newton can watch Russell Wilson's presser from last year's loss and learn from it:

The played a great defense, and they played conservative for the most part.

They played smart football, with a defense like that. They were just as likely to score on defense with those turn over machines they have on D. Their defense is pretty unique in that it usually creates points.

Yet he "loves" the game and has fun. Lol. This Cam is the real Cam. The Cam from the past 3 years thats ignorant/spoiled sport and in Auburn that was an ***. He was "humble and happy" because he was winning. PERIOD

Re: Super Bowl 50: Denver Broncos vs. Carolina Panthers Game Discussion Thread

So here's my last comments on Cam for now:

I've been on record saying that he's matured a LOT ever since that near fatal car accident. It really seemed like he had turned a corner and grown up from the "Scam Newton" moniker he earned in his younger days. Maybe we should've seen the signs coming though. I had read and seen him say some very stupid/braggadocious things leading up to the game. Things that I shook my head at but I put under the rug thinking that he was just enjoying himself a little more than he should. Tonight showed that he has taken a step back. Has he shown his "true colors"? It's hard to tell at this point but it's clear that he's taken a massive step backwards.

The fumble recovery opportunity that he bailed out on and his behavior afterwards on the field and at the presser reflected quite poorly on him but let's not forget that throughout the 2nd half despite it being a close game Cam looked like a defeated guy. Like it or not, a QB has to project an aura of confidence and push his teammates to win. You don't do that when you go into the huddle looking like a completely defeated person.

Newton showed his youth and immaturity tonight. He's opened up the doors for those to say that his act was just that, a blatant PR stunt to make him look good. He shirked his responsibility despite saying he wants to be the face of the league by conducting himself so poorly at the presser and his split second decision not to jump after the ball opens up to the criticism of thinking only about himself rather than his team.

To me, the jury is still out. I'd like to say that the Cam Newton I started to respect down the stretch and during the playoffs had a moment of weakness and can build from this but the cynic in me feels that he has a lot to answer for and he may not do it.

Now more than ever, Cam Newton has to prove that he's for real, on the field and off. The ball is in his hands now. It's up to him to determine what happens next.

Aint my fault you all somehow forget his behavior the previous years because of him being a "happy good sport" while winning this year.

Amazing Wade Phillips was sitting at home on his couch last year. The guy clearly has skills and knows how to let players shine.

Sorry, but you can't dance in people's faces and take smartass team pics on the sidelines when you're winning, then get all sulky and emo when you lose. I mean, you can but you'll get mocked and ridiculed for it. Got to have some consistency.

Why should it take a hit? Again what I said speaks for itself.. He congratulated Peyton on the field and shouldn't have to kiss the teams *** all through the presser.. Questions were also redundant. Emotions are again high and he doesn't know if he'll be back in this position.. You don't have to agree, but if you don't see my point then your just as silly as the rest of the media that will drag him.
