    Re: 2022 Offseason Thread

"There's a belief that #Colts QB Carson Wentz will "'probably" be traded or released before March 19th, per @mortreport. That's when $15M in base salary becomes guaranteed. His future in Indianapolis looks "bleak."

Crazy that it Eagles got a 3rd last year and a 1st this year for Wentz. For it to be a potential one and done would be suboptimal for the Colts

Suboptimal? Dealing Wentz for anything but another QB would be a catastrophe almost worthy of putting them on the hot seat. That is a lot of squandered young cheap talent.
Bills, Sabres, Illini, Cubs, basically any team that abuses its fanbase and I'm there.

For anyone who has watched "Don't look up," this reminds of one of its scenes.

The Wentz trade has to go down as one of the worst first round pick for a player trades in recent memory. That’s up there with the Cowboys trading for Roy Williams.

When I say that, I mean Colts normally draft well a 3rd and 1st are very valuable picks. They were banking on that Reich-Wentz relationship to help Wentz get back on track. Wentz main issues are mechanics and hero ball. He needs to be managed.

They can get something for him. There are teams who need a bridge QB. You're just not getting anything of significance for Wentz

He’ll get a job somewhere else.

Believe it or not, there are teams that love Mediocrity at QB, as we’ve seen throughout the years.

It's not even the worst first round pick trade by the Colts in recent memory. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trent_...anapolis_Colts

I'm not a huge Wentz fan but I don't see how they can pull the ripcord on it so soon unless they were dealing for a different QB.

I don't know that they love mediocrity as much as they're desperate for possible competence

one of the worst first round trades. let's not forget the raiders going after Carson Palmer

Or the Rams trading Bettis to draft Phillips.. remember that classic trade?

but come on the worst first round trade of all time was Hershall Walker to the Vikings. and look at all the players the cowboys got for it.

The issue is the Colts have to move on or they know their ceiling and it isn't the playoffs. They don't seem to have a coaching staff that will go all in to run the ball like the Titans have done to hide their QB issues.

The Colts need to decide if they want to rip the bandaid off now or wait a few years. The better option is probably to draft a QB while trying to live with Wentz. While they are limited with him, they could easily miss on a QB and then have nothing.

Probably one of the best trades they ever made.

If they had kept Bettis, no Marshall Faulk, no Greatest Show on Turf.

Steelers hire former Dolphins coach Brian Flores to LB/defensive assistant. I really like the hire, guy was a great coach. Now if they can grab Riddick for the GM spot...

Rams to name Kentucky OC Liam Coen as OC.

                              Well damn.

Eric Bienemy back to KC on a one year deal as their OC.

He was reportedly considering whether to coach in College or take a year off before deciding to return.
