    2021 Transaction Thread

Sounding like Cobb-GB reunion is close to happening.

We'd happily let GB overpay for Jake Kumerow
Bills, Sabres, Illini, Cubs, basically any team that abuses its fanbase and I'm there.

It always seem like a one-sided rumor. On Philly's side, if you can a Franchise QB who's just entering his prime at 26, you make that move. But with Watson no-trade clause, there never seemed like Watson would be interested in going to Philly. I do think Watson does get traded. Are they going to really not have him dress him all year. It does seem like a Dolphins deal waiting to happen since they do have the draft capital. I do think they would want pick protection because of legal issues. Watson should be able to get through the season since the trials wouldn't happen until February.

I think the Eagles goal is to develop the young players this year and see if Jalen Hurts could be the Franchise QB. Hurts has the intangibles and the teams seems to rally around him. The best situation would be for him to be the guy because they could use those potential three 1sts(if Wentz stays healthy) on 3 guys or trade up for someone like the Oregon DE or Stingley. If he isn't the guy, then I seem them ending with a top 10 pick a pairing that with the other two so they could move up for one of the top 2 rookie QBs. I only seem them trading for a veteran QB is if the surrounding talent develops and they think they can be a legit playoff team.

I like the move. Mullens was at best a Practice Squad QB the way he played this preseason. Minshew is definitely an upgrade and potentially better scheme fit behind Hurts than Flacco. I wouldn't be surprised if Flacco gets flipped a later date for a QB-needy team if there is an injury. They can get that 6th round pick back if they trade someone like Flacco, Dillard, or a potential roster cut trade.

Howie Roseman could not help himself! It’s a shrewd trade in a vacuum but with the QB drama in Philly for the last few years, it feels wrong for this team to add another QB. But you can see Roseman is following his QB factory ideology and stacking up as much talent as he can, either to help the team in case of injury/total ineffectiveness from Hurts or as a good trade chip if another team loses their QB this season. This may even be proofing the position heading in to next year’s draft if the Eagles flop this year, have a slew of picks but not one in the top 3 to get their franchise QB if that’s how it shakes out.

I sometimes forget that Wentz was extra soft in his discontent about having a capable backup. Hurts has said all the right things as far as earning the starting job and having to prove it every day (as he should, given he’s unproven so far), so having Minshew behind him might not be as scary to him as it is to fans who got used to their QB1 being entitled to his job.

Just happy to see CJ Beathard be a QB2 again. Lol

Hurts seems to have to the mindset where it wouldn't bother like it would with Wentz. No matter what Wentz, Pederson, or Howie says, drafting Hurts with the 2nd round pick was a "bad" pick and had an impact on Wentz. I wouldn't draft a QB that high with the intent on him being a cost effective backup, especially after they wasted a pick on Thorston the year prior. Wentz did come off as very entitled and stubborn.

And now the new rumor is that Watson to Miami is basically a done deal that will be announced in the coming days.

PFT says Miami isn’t going for it, directly contradicting that other guy who’s Twitter bio claims he broke Saleh to the Jets, lol.

They probably have been checking in or this guy saw Eagles grab Minshew, temped Carolina and Miami and decided on the Dolphins.

But what if Watson does go to Miami? He’s got to be headed to the exempt list at least, so you have him on roster and let Tua start as a lame duck? Torpedo a stepping stone season after 10-6? Watson is a great QB but this whole situation is too heavy for a team to take it on at the price Houston allegedly wants.

If the rumored asking price is accurate, there is no way Houston is getting 3 firsts and 2 seconds with his legal issues hanging over his head. They need to figure out what they’re doing with him in a hurry unless they want to pay him to not play for the year

I could see a deal that has them returning the equivalent of said draft picks if he doesn't start 90% of the games over the next two years.
