No chance a rebuilding team would take McCaffrey. Maybe the Panthers offered it, but surely the Texans laughed and hung up

Damn.... I'm trying to understand how and why lol.... Aaron Donald was already enough to handle. But now you add Von Miller. Not to mention Jalen Ramsey in this new hybrid position....jeeeeez

Edit... Just watching this video of Jalen talking about how he's been lucky to play with great defensive lines. So he pressures the receiver in coverages is consistent. He's happy [emoji23]

Rams gave up a 2nd and 3rd for Miller. Seems a little steep for someone his age. Hopefully the Bears blow things up and get back some draft picks even if they’re only late round picks but o doubt they do that

The Broncos weren’t going to be able to re-sign him this off-season and they aren’t worried about this year so they got a pretty good return all things considered.

                For a 2nd and 3rd...

I guess he’s trending down (8 sacks 2019, missed a year 2020, 4.5 through half a season now) but damn. Of course it’s not all about sacks, but that force off the edge is what the Rams are paying for. And these will be very late in the round. Rams are aggressive as heck on the trade market, and this seems like it should return on the investment pretty well.

End of an era in Denver. Must be thrilling to be able to join the Rams and have a shot instantly to win the SB.

The Rams are using picks to effectively buy cap space from other teams. They threw in extra picks in the Goff trade to get Detroit to eat his deal, and they did the same here to get Denver to pay Miller's salary.

That’s good insight. They’re truly zagging as most teams zig and hoard draft picks. Seems like the Rams have been doing the all-in this year approach for years now. Basically since McVay gave them stability at coaching and they’ve been able to plug in different players at QB and RB.

That Rams-Packers game is gonna be something else in a few weeks, especially if we can have Jaire and Z back by then.

Seems wide open this year, why not go for it? I like the trade for the Rams.

As it’s sits right now I think the Rams only have two picks next year (along with a compensatory pick).

I think most fans and players would live with that for a year if they win a Super bowl.

This is the kind of big move that leaves no questions as to their intentions.

This is another example of what on field success buys you. You're right this has been their approach for years now. In prior trades the reaction or judgement of the moves have been a little more mixed.

Its high risk, high reward. Superbowl or bust for the Rams.
I personally don't like it, but if they do win the SB they will have as many SB wins this decade as my build thru the draft Ravens and who can argue with that?

Its not enough to be a great team to win the SB. You need some things to go your way; there's a little bit of luck involved.

One argument would be that its better to position yourself for multiple runs or shots, and this all in approach hurts in that regard.

The counter argument would be the difficulty in having good drafts in successive years. The luck involved in drafting cancels out or outweighs the luck needed for "everything to go your way" for one playoff run.

Agree or disagree with their approach, the league still benefits by having teams willing to go against the tide like this.

Melvin Ingram wants out of Pittsburgh, Steelers trying to facilitate a trade. He was supposed to rotate with Highsmith at LB, kind of fell off the map last few games. It hurts depth, but if they can get back a mid to late pick for next year, why not?
