2014 OS "Who To Start" Thread

Yeah, thanks wwharton. I'm in a standard league. Right now I'm conditionally dropping Flacco to get the Ravens D for next week. I'd be dropping Oliver if I took a flyer on any of these guys. Right now I'm thinking I should hold onto Oliver for Ryan Matthews insurance, but if a better option is available I'll pull the trigger. My other backs are Gore, Bradshaw and Vereen.

Yeah hold onto Oliver. I don't even think it's just Matthews insurance. Matthews is scheduled to get 15 touches this week. That will slowly start to go up but the other snaps aren't going to Donald Brown, and I think Oliver is best suited for that change of pace, Sproles role. He's at least as valuable as all the guys you named, and since you already have him I'd just see how they use him this week.

Steelers definitely. Even if they come up short again this week, they should still get some sacks, maybe a pick and win or lose, the Titans shouldn't score too many points.

The Bears "could" go off on the Vikings. I expect Forte to have a great game.

Had to come in with a tough one...

Personally, I think Ball "could" be useful this week but I don't think he will get the bulk of the touches. I think next week will be the week for him.

The Skins run D is better than most think and I think Sims gets more touches this week (don't think Martin will play but if he does, this gets even messier for Rainey).

Sankey gets all the touches he can handle but just isn't doing much with them.

Sankey would be the "safe" play but it's not even that safe. IF Ball gets at least 15 touches I think he will be valuable. Meanwhile, I think Rainey will get 15 touches but not much more, and against a tougher run D.

I think I'd take my chances with Ball.

Now thats ugly. I guess I'd go Sankey just because the role is clearly defined... I'm pretty sure Shonn Greene gets goal line touches but last week he fumbled so maybe Sankey will get a bigger role. Dont get too excited

                          1. I like both. With Gio looking to be out again, Hill could produce close to Bell. I think Jennings will have a good game but don't think he'll be close to Julio (unless he gets a TD which you can't really predict) so I'd probably pick the 2nd.

                          2. VJax. I really, really hope Garcon gets back on track this week but it could easily be DJax or Reed that takes advantage of the good match up. VJax will get targets either way... worry with him is drops. Allen needs to prove he's back before I trust him. Considering Floyd was hurt last year, Allen hasn't done much when on the field with Floyd.

                          3. Morris. Safer pick and with more upside.

Good problem to have as all your guys should have good weeks. Mathews is scheduled to get 15 touches. I expect them to stick to that, especially if the game gets out of hand. I think he can do a lot with 15 touches against OAK though.

I also expect Gore to get around 15 touches (but that's just a guess, it could be more). The Giants are a good match up, but I think they'll be tougher than Oakland. So I would go with Mathews over Gore but by the slightest of margins. If your gut says Gore then stick with it. All those guys should do good things for you.

Go with your current starters. Take the week off of Mathews and see how he looks post injury. All your starters have good matchups anyway
