Re: Official Carolina Panthers thread
It's been speculated in a couple of circles... Before the season, the consensus was that Tom Coughlin was a dead duck, and John Fox is still highly thought of by the Giants owner, which would have paved the way for the Panthers to conveniently approach the former Super Bowl coach living in North Raleigh.Comment

Re: Official Carolina Panthers thread
I was just about to ask about John Fox. I don't think our lack of success is his fault but since he's the HC, it is. I know that I'd heard some grumblings about him possibly being out this year. Getting Bill Cowher in Charlotte would be OUTSTANDING!!!!F-L-O-R-I-D-A! S-T-A-T-E! Florida State! Florida State! Florida State! Wooooo!Comment

Re: Official Carolina Panthers thread
Face it, no team in the NFL can make the playoffs with a fourth string QB. It doesn't matter who is on the sidelines. Last year they had as many injuries (especially O-Line) as a team like the Rams this year. They weren't making the playoffs.Comment

Re: Official Carolina Panthers thread
Yea but they never straight up tank. They always scrap out a few wins.
They have looked terrible this year, especially the D.
Chris Harris is really growing on me though, he brings the pain.Comment

Re: Official Carolina Panthers thread
Every year, the Panthers are good enough to not get an early pick, but not good enough to make the playoffs. It doesn't make sense.Comment

I agree. You'll never make the shore just treading water. Either swim above the surface or hold your breath & dive underneath. Either method will get you on dry land faster than just floating adrift.Originally posted by VP Richard M. Re: Official Carolina Panthers thread
I know the game means nothing to TB & they are just trying to coast in for next week. Still looking @ Moore in the 1st half, I have to ask again why he wasn't inserted earlier. He could much further ahead in his development by now. There's some potential there.Originally posted by VP Richard M. I feel like we need to go another direction. I'd like to see the offense opened up a bit.Comment

Re: Official Carolina Panthers thread
This is terrible. I think draft spots are REALLY valuable. This game does nothing except make the record look better than it should be if the complete the victory. Plus it probably gives Fox another year.

Re: Official Carolina Panthers thread
"Great". Carolina finishes the year w/another win. once more, they have to settle for their 2nd, 3rd choice in the draft.
DeAngelo goes for over 100 & Matt moore was solid.
Fire Fox. There's something to be said for staying the course & not pushing the panic button too quickly. But that can also be called rigid, unwillingness to admit a mistake, & afraid to make change. This year, Fox showed he's a terrible decision maker when it comes to personel. It's time for a new direction.Originally posted by VP Richard M. Re: Official Carolina Panthers thread
One other thing. The win gives them 2nd place in the division. Which means a tougher schedule next season.Originally posted by VP Richard M. NixonI always remember that whatever I have done in the past, or may do in the future, Duke University is responsible one way or the other.
