If you would have told me at the beginning of the season that the NFL would have been fighting with CBS for the rights to show ANY Bronco game, I would have told you that you were insane.

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
I doubt Lloyd has any interest in being a "role player" on a play off team. He wants to be one of the top WRs in the league, and wants to get paid like it. Another year like last year, and people would believe he wasn't a flash in the pan. Then, come free agency, he could ask for big bucks.Comment

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
I agree with you. I watch some of the catches he makes for the Rams and I can't help but wonder what he would do to help Tebow. I like Lloyd and I know he's wanting to put up big numbers in his contract year, but I think he could have had success here even if it was in a more limited role. He did only have one catch last week. He's a phenomenal talent and I like watching what he does regardles of the uniform he's wearing.
Tebow has done an excellent job at putting the ball where only his guys can get it, even if they have to work a little harder to pull it in. You know Lloyd would grab quite a few of those.Last edited by Jonsco28; 12-08-2011, 02:59 PM.Comment

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
For me, Lloyd was never a "great" receiver here. He doesn't run routes well at all. That's always been his problem. With Demaryius Thomas back, you get a bigger receiver who can go deep. Decker has been beating guys deep for weeks, and he can run routes across the middle. Matthew Willis is a great 3rd or 4th option who can fill many roles and seems to get open. So yeah, what would Lloyd really bring to this team aside from another substitution? Might as well let Tebow gain some rapport and chemistry with these young receivers. Thomas reaped the benefits last week.
Lloyd has some great acrobatics, and made some great catches. But if he were a better route-runner, or just faster, he wouldn't have to make those type of over-the-defender catches. He'd just be straight-up open. I value a good tight end or a receiver who catches the ball over the middle much higher. He'll be the guy who is there for a young QB to check-down to. D.Thomas can attest to the benefits of it. I just HOPE HOPE HOPE the kid is healthy now (knock on wood). This kid will be a BEAST, and he showed it last Sunday.Comment

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
When many of your catches are deep balls, wouldn't you expect each catch to be for a first down? That has nothing to do with running routes. I don't really see the point. He's not a good route runner, that much is known. Let's laud a full back for all the first downs he picks up on 3rd and one.Last edited by Broncos86; 12-08-2011, 07:34 PM.Comment

And your fullback theory? Please.
Personally, I can't stand you at all and the Broncos thread has little to no interest to me anymoreAaron

Lloyd is a FAR better route runner than Thomas, Decker or Royal. He is also an exceptional receiver. Some of the catches that he made and his body control was unbelievable. You were surprised when that cat dropped the ball.
You make it sound like all Lloyd was doing was running fly patterns. Maybe the fact that he got 72 first downs on his 77 receptions was like what Av7 noted was because he knew how to run the correct route and go the correct distance for the first down.
And if he needs to get faster like you claim how is it that he is catching all these deep balls?
I would love to see Lloyd back here, but I get why he left (or wanted to leave). While Denver's WR are still young and improving, you have seen a lot of dropped balls lately.Comment

"I've never been part of an ugly win, I know that much, I've been in some ugly losses, but ugly wins don't exist."
-Brian Urlacher
I love this quote.
On a different note, I understand that these are all paid athletes, but I wonder if a guy like Tebow can be a better conditioned athlete than most. You hear people talk about how Tebow seems to get better throughout the course of the game. Could it be that he is conditioned better and is able to maintain a higher level of play during the full course of game while other players are tired? It seems like it's been Tebow's M.O. to shine in the 4th quarter for his entire career. Granted he's not the only one involved in scoring, but you would have to think that his scrambling and ability to escape tackles and sacks late in the game is a product of his athletic nature and condtioning?
I am more surprised when he does get sacked. It's such a different feeling after other Denver quarterbacks seem to just fall to the ground when a defender breathes on him.Comment

Decker runs routes far beyond what Lloyd can. Thomas? He's a beast.Comment

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
A) D. Thomas cannot run routes. I keep saying it, he cannot run routes. His injuries have hindered him immensely, and it shows in his ability to genuinely get open.
B) Tebow was terrible. TERRIBLE.
C) Decker is a better WR right now. He can run routes, he catches the ball, he knows how to use his body to shield from defenders.
Last week, Thomas was barely in the game. He had a couple catches and a couple drops. But was largely a non-factor against Miami. If he was "targeted" ten times last week, I'd imagine many of those were throw-aways by Tebow.
And, when Lloyd was with Denver he averaged a little over 16 yards per catch in his 3 year tenure. So he wasn't catching all these deep balls like you claim.
You have a tendency to waffle on your views. You seem to have this desire to be right about all things Bronco related. It's like you see yourself as the Gate Keeper of this thread. You are very quick to condemn those of us who don't share your viewpoint or have a different opinion. The truth is, you are wrong more often than you are right. Do me a favor and go back and read all your past posts about Lloyd and tell me again why you don't think he's a great receiver. Not only that, it's rather comical to go back and read all your posts about Tebow and Orton.
If you're the Gate Keeper...then I am the Key Master.
Now that wasn't very hard...was it?Comment
