Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
That's what is so mind-boggling about this. The speculation is that his 4 game suspension is simply about him missing the drug tests. And if I recall, you have to miss several tests for the NFL to flag you for it. Now, we find out he just didn't bother to show up to court.
It's as if he thinks he's bigger than it all, as if he gets a free pass because he's Von Miller. He's screwing up over the most simple of things. How hard is it to just take your proof of insurance and your driver's license and drive to the court? Boom, done. Go pee in a cup. Done.
If he thinks being the #2 overall pick somehow makes him immune, he's going to figure out that the Broncos aren't going to tolerate it. It doesn't matter how much talent you have; if you're finding ways to screw up and get suspended, you won't be signed. What's more frustrating is that Von Miller was supposed to be the good character draft pick over Marcell Dareus. That was one of the selling points on Von Miller, that he was a good character kid who wouldn't be a distraction or cause issues. And here we are. It's DJ Williams all over again.Comment

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
This is definitely alarming. Is he just that immature? I'm trying not to overreact. He needs a big wake up call. This is a guy who could be the best defender in the NFL one day. What is going on here?
I hope he gets suspended, honestly, I hope he gets a slap I'm the face and starts figuring stuff out."Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Not getting a suspension could potentially be very bad.
Since he already seems to feel above the law getting away with this could just add to that thought for him.Comment

Man, what is the deal with the Broncos and their possible up-and-coming running backs not staying healthy through camp? Ryan Torrain, Mario Fannin, and now CJ Anderson. Tough break. I was looking forward to seeing Anderson Saturday night. Hopefully he recovers quick.
Lance Ball has got to be the luckiest guy on the team.
Hopefully Monte Ball gets a little more work Saturday night. I just can't see Hillman hanging onto the starting job. Good situational player, but IMO he's just too small to be 'the' guy. He reminds me of Quentin Griffin.Comment

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
I too was looking forward to watching him Saturday. He has a good first cut, good vision, and burst to get through the hole. I like his size also at 5'8" and 224 lbs which is more prototypical of a 3 down back in the NFL. Not to say he was going to be the next Terrell Davis, but I wanted see how CJ would do given more playing time this preseason. I just hope he somehow can stay with the Broncos and clear waivers.Last edited by TRC; 08-16-2013, 06:45 PM.Comment

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
I heard two reports, one said turf toe the other said strained knee. At first they said he went down in practice and "yelped in pain."
Bad news for sure, promising first game last week."Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
I agree. I am hoping last night serves as a bit of an eye-opener for this team. Over-reacting to a preseason game is silly, but there is no doubt they are not were they need to be. For a team that has all these SB aspirations, they looked awful.
It will be interesting to see what happens on the depth chart this week in regards to the RB position.Comment

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
First of all I hope Wolfe is o.k.
Hillman clearly blew it fumbling twice, once taking six away and handing it to them.Ball is the starter as long as he doesn't implode also.
Peyton was moving the ball well when we weren't fumbling it to the other team.
Costly penalties, one negates int. of Wilson, very sloppy overall.
Denver was obviously bad moreso than Seattle was that good.
Depth isn't very good, but that's to be expected when you have a lot of bigtime starters.
Looks now like Welker and Wolfe injuries are minor but Champ's foot injury is serious enough where he'll likely miss the start of the season. That hurts, especially if Von Miller gets suspended.Luckily we are very deep in the secondary.Last edited by gr18; 08-18-2013, 06:15 PM.Comment
