    Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread

I think Elway deserves credit for doing a great job with free agents/free agency since he has had control of the team.

I also think he deserves a little bit of a criticism for his drafts. He hasn't IMO hit a real "home run" yet. I really think Brock Osweiler was a BIG miss. I felt it (and said it) at the time and I feel it even more so now. Especially when you look at who was drafted after (Foles, Wilson, Cousins). I hope I am wrong, I hope in five years I post on here "Man I sure was wrong about Brock dude is a stud" but I just don't think so. I don't know anything for sure yet about Wolfe or Sly Williams, Montee Ball will become a lot easier to judge in a couple months.

I have high hopes for Roby but we will see.

    Just my opinion, as always.

I hope he works out, but I don't have any warm feelings about him. I thought it was funny that during the draft, ESPN was showing highlights of all the picks, and then the Broncos chose Roby. All they showed was lowlight clips of him getting beat. The knock on him is that he can cover a guy but he can't play the ball. Denver already has a guy like that...Tony Carter.

I think the best pick Denver made was Latimer.

        Official Denver Broncos Thread

Been busy with the baby, but I will start by saying how sad I was to hear about Pat Bowlen. Hope at the end of the year, John can hold up the Lombardi Trophy and say "This ones for Pat".

Did get a good laugh out of Manning and Welker dancing today.

Got offered 3 home game tickets this year but won't be able to make the trip out there for any of the games, which sucks but hopefully in a few year I can start tat traditions with my son like my dad had with me. At least one a year.

I do agree with Jonsco that I am worried about Roby. I hope Harris is back and both him and Talib stay healthy so Roby can play in certain situations or even as the nickle until he learns the defense.

Hope to be in here everyday talking Broncos Football (between naps and feedings). Starting to get that sick feeling from Super Bowl out of my stomach.

A little worried about Montee Ball missing the whole preseason recovering from Appendectomy. It's a good think he got quality time last year, so he knows what Manning expects of him. But would have like to see him get some reps this preseason with Manning and continuing to improve pass protection.

But it maybe a blessing to see what CJ and Hillman can do in preseason, plus the rest of the RB unit will get more reps. Maybe we find a gem.

I'm a little concerned as well. I have zero faith in Hillman. I've heard he looks bigger and stronger coming into camp, but to me he still looks small. The bigger question for Hillman is ball security. Maybe CJ will live up to last year's hype.

Hopefully Ball recovers quickly enough to get in some more time before September 7th. That guy just looks like an NFL back.

Might be the first time in years that our starting RB enters the regular season without some type of hindering injury!

My feelings on that are very similar. But remember last year a good deal of us were way down on Moreno and then he had a great season for us. So maybe Hillman does the same, as a change of pace guy behind Ball.

And Broncos I agree with your post, just hope everything heals right from the appendectomy and doesn't cost him any regular season games.

I liked the tenacity that the defense showed last night, even if the game was penalty ridden. I think they finally have a D-line that can generate pressure on their own. It will be interesting to see what happens when Miller gets in the mix. Ware looked good. Real good.

I also want to see more of Juwan Thompson. He had several single cut-back runs that looked awfully familiar.

I feel that out first string best their first string for the 1.5. Qtrs they were in there. I know it doesn't mean much but it was a big positive for me.

I felt our first string o-line looked sensational and if all five guys stay healthy will be one of the better units in the league.

                    D. Ware seemed very quick and explosive. Looked to be in great shape.

DT looked physical. Honestly we looked a but more physical all around.

I only have watched the first half, will watch the second later tonight. What I saw was definitely not bad at all, IMO.

Trevathan was carted off the field this morning. Not good. Linebacker is the one position where they can probably least afford to lose people. Hopefully it's not bad.....

Knee fracture and they have him listed at missing 4-8 weeks, which the low end would be good but still it's scary especially being a little thin there.

As of now, but still have to see how quick he rehabs. If all is going well around week 3 I would prefer him take a few extra weeks and come back with fresh legs mid season. Just my opinion though.

Three notable starters coming back for tonight's game...Miller, Ball, and Vickerson. It will be great to get Harris and Trevathan back on the field as well.

                              Stay healthy.

Good to see them back in lineup. And great seeing Sanders playing at that level.

Worried about Welker though. Due to the amount of concussions he has sustained in last 12 months, he maybe gone for awhile.
