I forgot to mention the sound clip of Rod Smith I heard the other day

Basically he said he told Marshall when he first got here that he (Smith) knew what he (Marshall) wanted, and he'd show him how to get it but it wouldnt be the way he (Marshall) would want it.

Thanks for taking care of that mess in there.

Did he happen to elaborate on what he meant by that? I'm sure we can assume, but just curious if he added to that at all.

They only played that small clip, I dont remember what station they said he gave an interview for. Rod Smith sounded like he knew exactly what Marshall would do when he wanted the new big contract.

          I'm sure he did.

Smith did a chat on NFL.com to too far back and when asked about Marshall kind of tip toed the line like he knew exactly what was going on and how it was going to play out, but didn't want to talk about it.

I love that that even Lynch is warning teams about Marshall. He continues to act stupid this is going to be a long season.

With his duties (probably covering slot), I hope he gets the turnovers people raved about while he was in college. Live up to that first round potential McDaniels saw before and during the draft. If that works out, its a steal for his deal; 4 years, $4.08 million / $2.15 million signing bonus

                    More rookie signings
Tom Brandstater (QB) signs a 4 year deal
David Bruton (DB) signs a 4 year deal
Darcel McBath (Safety) signs a 4 year deal

But it looks like we will have the first rookie holdouts since Tatum Bell.

But it doesn't sound like it will be a problem, I wouldn't be surprised to see Ayers sign today with Moreno not far behind.

                            Personnel executives poll

An informal poll of some personnel executives around the league over the last two days shows that while Brandon Marshall may want out of Denver, a lot of people who make the decisions for teams say they believe he still has plenty of work to do here to get what he wants.

In short, all of the executives polled said, he would have to show he’s healthy after offseason hip surgery — a far bigger concern for them than for many who believe Marshall can quickly force a trade – and they would like to see fewer dropped passes and more touchdowns.

Marshall, despite back-to-back 100-catch seasons to go with a Pro Bowl trip in ‘08, is not considered a precise route runner and many general managers worry that he drops too many balls as he attempts to position his body to run after the catch before he has secured the ball.

To them there is also the matter of an eight-game stretch last season when he had just one touchdown catch. And then after a two-touchdown game against the last-place Chiefs in December he also didn’t have a touchdown catch in the Broncos final three games — all three losses that knocked them out of the playoffs. That’s 11 games without a touchdown catch playing with a quarterback who almost routinely looked for him first in the scoring zone.

Larry Fitzgerald, for example, didn’t go more than two consecutive games last season without a touchdown catch and had three games with two touchdown catches.

So, while Marshall may not be happy in Denver many of the people with the power to try and free him want to see him do a little more with the Broncos.

                              Per rotoworld

Beat writer Mike Klis reports that the Broncos intend to let "the other guys picked ahead" of Knowshon Moreno sign contracts before beginning serious talks with the No. 12 overall pick.

If they stick to this, the Broncos could be waiting awhile with Michael Crabtree at No. 10 requesting top-three pay. Still, Darrius Heyward-Bey was a key chip in the top ten. Klis didn't seem worried about Moreno missing much time.
Three Denver Broncos veterans — cornerback Champ Bailey, safety Renaldo Hill and defensive tackle Marcus Thomas – will start training camp on the physically unable to perform list.

The moves were confirmed by two NFL sources, who did not want to be named because the Broncos didn’t announce the moves. Players who begin training camp on the PUP list can come off the list and be added to the active roster at any time.

One source said Thomas was on the PUP list for failing a conditioning test, held for all the veterans who reported Thursday. The reason Bailey and Hill — two projected starters – were on the list was unknown.
Marcus Thomas better get his *** in shape, needs to learn the defense and we can't have guys wasting time that are going to be on the line

Not to worried about Moreno showing up late to camp but agree Id like to see Thomas start practicing.
