      Quinn =

I've never been a fan of him and his accuracy up to this point has been ugly. I guess we'll have to see him work in this system. And I'm just not in a good mood today

I rather see what Brandstater has than Quinn at this point.

Some of you might hate the Quinn trade... but the guy has some class.

Transcript of Brady Quinn's exclusive interview with the Plain Dealer

By Mary Kay Cabot, The Plain Dealer

        March 14, 2010, 9:44PM

        Associated Press

Brady Quinn was traded to the Broncos today, and leaves the Browns with mixed emotions.CLEVELAND -- Former Browns quarterback Brady Quinn, who was traded to the Denver Broncos today for running back Peyton Hillis and two future draft picks, talked exclusively to the Plain Dealer today. Here is the transcript:
        * "Obviously there are things that are out of my control. It's a great opportunity for me to play under a great coach (Josh McDaniels).''

        * "It will be a fresh start for me and great opportunity with a very talented team and it should be a lot of fun.''

        * (On starting in Denver?) "At this point, I'm just looking to create a role for myself on the team. Anytime you're in a situation like this, that's all you can really do is just go in there and learn the system, get to know your teammates and coaches, everyone else and that's really my focus right now. All of those things will take care of themselve in the end.''

        * (On the Browns turning to Jake Delhomme instead of him)"It's really hard to try to figure out what it is. Coach Mike Holmgren has had a lot of success, and I'm sure the decisions he's making, he's got a lot of reasons for them and he's doing what he wants to with the team. It's not really for me to question. I'm a Bronco and I couldn't be happier to be heading over to Denver. It's a storied organization, and a beautiful city. It will be fun experiencing it and moving on with this part of my life.''

        * (On his love affair with Browns fans)"I had a wonderful time in Cleveland and I say that because of the fans -- the fans were so great and everyone was so welcoming and loyal to me. Even though I battled through some tough times, I think the fans stuck with me and I can't thank them enough for all of their support.''

        * "I wish things would've worked out differently with Cleveland. I really wanted to be the guy to turn things around and turn the tide, but that's not the situation I'm faced with at this point. All I can do is move on and look toward the future and look toward Denver at this point.''

        * (On mixed emotions) "I think you just have to give yourself a dose of reality. Things don't always work out the way you want them to in life. I know God has a plan for me and obviously those plans are leading me out to Denver right now. At this point, I'll just continue to work as hard as I can and do the best I can to get in there and be a catalyst or some sort of positive entity to the Broncos team.''

        * (On some sadness to leave) "Obviously not being able to play close to home near my family and not being able to play for the team that you always rooted for growing up -- yea, there's some sadness there, but there's a lot of things that are out of my control, so you can't sit there and think about those kinds of things too much.''

        * "The biggest thing for me is being appreciative of the fans. For the time that I was there, I can't thank them enough for their support. They're as loyal as can be. They'd always keep us in games even when we were down, helped bring us back. Hopefully they'll always continue to have that enthusiasm. It's a great place to play and a great team and organization to be a part of.

        * (On receiving a fair shot here?) "Looking at the situation, it's not really for me to decide that. I just wish things would've gone differently in Cleveland. I hope they have success in the future. I hope coach Holmgren can get things turned around for them.''

        * (On did he ask for trade) "No, there was no request for a trade. The first I learned about it was when (General Manager) Tom Heckert informed me of it. But when they signed Jake (Delhomme) to the deal they did, the writing was kind of on the wall at that point.''

        * "One of the biggest things coming out of this is that you're going to a team that really wants you and came and got you. I'm looking forward to the opportunity. Hopefully I can continue to learn and grow and get better. Hopefully having a coach like coach McDaniels will allow me to do that.''

        * (On his confidence)"No matter what the situation, I've always felt confident in my ability and hopefully I'll have the opportunity to show that in Denver.''

        * (On his Lis Franc foot injury)"It's doing great. It's really progressed very well. I'm just now coming into 100% recovery and feeling great. I look forward to competing and working with the guys in the offseason workouts (starting this week).''

        * (On selling his house here)I did. So I'm happy that worked out as well. Things sort of fell into place.

        * "Obviously there's a lot of changes going on and coach mike holmgren has his rhyme and reason. I'm sorry it couldn't have lasted longer.''

I am a big fan of the Quinn trade. Always liked Hillis but McDaniels and him did not get along. Should be an interesting QB competition.

              Good News!

Jason Elam to retire with Broncos:

Kicker Jason Elam will sign a one-day contract with the Broncos on Wednesday so he can officially retire as a member of the team.

Elam will sign a one-day contract with Denver so he can technically be a member of the Broncos when he files his retirement papers with the NFL after 17 seasons, the first 15 of which were here in Denver.

Alright, cards are on the table.

1st, and 2 seconds. What do you guys want or expect?

Unless there is a solid MLB there for the first pick, I would like to see the Broncos trade down for a later first and later pick.

I would really like to see them take that center out of Florida, but from what I understand, it may be a reach to take him that early.

I do think they need to take a WR at some point, but to increase the odds of getting productivity out of draft day WR, I think you need to take at least two. Getting a later pick would help and as Brandon Marshall proved, you CAN find great WR's in the late rounds with good scouting.

On top of that, maybe some more depth at LB, we have obvious needs at OL, especially if Harris can't stay healthy and maybe they grab a few more young guys for the secondary.

Maybe a late TE wouldn't be a bad idea either...

I love coming here and talking draft picks. We can use all the logic in the world. It's just tough because McD has become so unpredictable for me. Who knows what's going to happen...

If they can find a way to get Thomas (GT) without using the 1st rounder where they currently sit, then I think that'd be the best option. After all that's gone on, Bryant may be too risky, and it'd probably be good to have a bigger WR to pair with Royal. Not sure how they get there but if they can I think it'd be the way to go.

Besides the WR, ILB, G/C, and dline needs, I think the team needs to really start looking for CBs that can step up after Bailey and Co. are gone. So far the past few years (outside of Darrent Williams), we've seen a fair share of young guys simply peak out at the slot corner duty and some have been demoted from that role. Thats one position besides the dline I've begin to really worry about a lot more.

With McDaniels, I have no clue what direction they go with the 1st round pick or really any pick. If last year's draft is any indication, pretty much anything can happen and can leave you with this reaction :

So that was how my reaction was. I let my guard down after Demaryius and then the team goes and does that.

I never thought the team would add 2 QBs I absolutely cant stand but they're part of the team now so it is what it is.

I want to know what Bills offered the Ravens for their 1st round pick and see just how bad McDaniels overpaid- he overpaid last year, twice. No business taking a QB with the needs the team has.

-Atleast we know neither guy will be getting into trouble.
--Just remembered, Bowlen said he wanted to draft a QB but I dont remember where/when he said it. Anyone remember if he was talking about this draft?
---Mayock seems fairly positive on Tebow, I missed the post-selection discussion for the pick. "I believe in the kid". Hopefully he's right, I just dont agree with it but as I said, he's a Bronco and I won't hate any Bronco
----Interesting, McDaniels said McClain wasn't on his board for the 11th pick.

                            Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread

I actually am loving McDaniels doing his best BB impression in this draft. The draft is deep so they stock piled later picks and are using them to move up when they see a guy they really want. Considering how they've stock piled picks you can't really say "he's not worth going at 25" or something like that bc it seems he's just looking at players he likes and getting in front of other teams that might take them.

Now if you don't like Tebow, that's a completely different story but I think Thomas was the right WR to take (and got him at a good place) and that does fill a need. I think Orton can be serviceable for another year at QB, and McDaniels seems to know what he's doing with QBs so there's hope he can turn Quinn into something decent. With the offense he wants to run, I could see it happening. And we know Tebow is going to do everything he can to be good and a guy like McDaniels is a great guy to try to help him get there.

I honestly don't see it as bad as you think. And they definitely didn't give up too much to move up. Take a closer look. They gave up a 2nd rounder and moved up in the 1st round. They moved down 4 spots in the fourth round. Other than that, they gave up a 3rd round pick. They have a ton of picks. It seemed like a fair deal and shouldn't hurt too much considering they have other picks to work with.
