Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
I hate when articles just guess http://blogs.denverpost.com/broncos/...g-injury/4053/
If not a complete exhale, the Broncos may have at least stopped holding their collective breath. The early indication is starting running Knowshon Moreno suffered a severe right hamstring injury, according to an NFL source.
The fear is that Knowshon Moreno may have torn his hamstring.
Although hamstring injuries can vary in severity — and Moreno no doubt popped his pretty good — torn muscles typically heal quicker than ripped up knee ligaments. Remember, there are still 42 days remaining until the Broncos’ first game, sept. 12 at Jacksonville.
Moreno suffered his right leg injury after catching a screen pass and fell in pain after making a cut. He had to be carted off the field and assisted into the locker room.
A few minutes later, backup running back Correll Buckhalter also walked off the field, under his own power, with whatAaron

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
A sigh of relief (kind of):
Moreno out 3 weeks, Buckhalter out 1.
We saw Moreno start out slow last year after holding out so this won't help, but this is a different case since he can at least be involved with the team and taking part in the meetings even though he can't participate....Comment

What's the word on how Tebow has looked so far? I know it's early, but I heard Colin Cowherd ripping him this morning on my drive...I got out before I heard exactly what the deal was, but he was saying Tebow is why the Broncos are going to crash and burn this year. Made me think he must not be doing well so far."People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
its been crazy with all the injuries, but trying to be optimistic, I'm hoping the offense will score more this season and the defense wont have to be the strength of the team this year. this might be crazy considering we lost Marshall, but hopefully the line will gell and we can run the ball better...Comment

While it sounds like Orton is definitely the QB in Denver, I like what I'm hearing about Tebow. It sounds like he's impressed so far...can't wait to see him in the first pre-season game."People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
Brady Quinn plain sucks, there's no way around it. I've never liked him.
Defense will need to focus on tackling this week, its always been an issue for the team. I really like the secondary, Cox (minus the injury) will fit in well compared to Alphonso Smith. Cox reminds me of Darrent Williams, anyone else see that?
I didn't get alot of time to watch the dline, anyone watch how they did?
Run game is non existent, they wont get much done with what they have for the time being.
I liked the oline, gave Orton a huge pocket to work with. The offense will only get better when they bring in Thomas and Decker, I see alot of plays going downfield once the group comes together.
Thats my random thoughts that have come up for nowAaron

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
Got to go to the game and I was very impressed by Tebow. Not much of a fan of his, but he was pretty good. We rushed him like every play and he handled it pretty well and got some good passes in. (including at least one dropped pass that was spot on accurate)
It’s time for the Denver Broncos to promote Tim Tebow to their No. 2 quarterback, if only to keep him upright. The Broncos have way too much invested in Tebow for him to being playing behind a third-string offensive line any longer.
Already an article about promoting Tebow over Quinn. (was surprised to see how bad quinn looked too)Comment

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
some impressions after watching the game last night..
the first team offense looked solid, Orton looked sharp in the spread. the running game was so so, but that is kind of to be expected imo, I dont know how much work L. Ball has gotten with the first team offense and a running game takes time to gell.
Quinn was horrific, never looked comfortable and what bothered me most of all is that he never took command of the offense during his PT, unlike his competition J.T. O'Sullivan who to me had a very confident swagger about him, Quinn just had a deer in the headlights look every time he came in, reminded me of Simms last season..
and then there is Tebow, who looked every bit the part for his first NFL action, albeit is was preseason. good velocity on his throws and making the right reads for the most part. he looked calm and in control, personally I was impressed.
the first team defense was good for the most part, the back up LB's have me a little worried though, where was DJ? Bannan and Williams definitely made a difference and Champ appeared to be in regular season, pro bowl, form and Goodman was solid as always. A. Smith and P. Cox looked a little shaky to me, maybe some NFL game jitters?
specials looked good, Prater did a good job and I thought Colquitt was exceptional, I hope he continues that trend into the regular season. a few nice returns and that was good to see, I think Cox could be a valuable asset in the return game...Comment

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
I can't remember from what article it was but Carson Palmer was physically touched once, by Bannan. Coverage sacks may be the common theme despite the defensive scheme of bringing blitzes.
Play of the night for me: Champ bumping Ocho off the line a few yards and then coming back around behind him to break up the pass.
Starters went 14-0 vs Cincy, thats a great way to start the preseason and get the ball rollingAaron
