Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
Hopefully Bowlen considers his age and realizes he can spend a little extra to win "now", "now" being 2-3 years with the right staff in place.Aaron

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
Tebow may be the reason for Bailey to stay here after reading the post-game articles. Bailey said he hopes to be around here since Tebow is a winner and winners don't lose.
Mike Singletary would be an interesting option to consider now since he's been fired. *Not as a head coachLast edited by av7; 12-27-2010, 02:27 AM.Aaron

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
potential for sure
Tebow is having a better pro start than Steve Young.
If they build a good team around him, he wont just have to manage the offense, he is a big-time playmaker.
He looks like a Vick/Alstott/S.Young/B.Jacobs hybrid mix of a quarterback.
Unless he suffers a major injury, I think he wins at least one superbowl in Denver
Im seeing a lot of positive development and progression with his throwing accuracy and reads.
He works so hard to improve that its inevitible for Tim to succeed.GO HEAT

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
vs San Diego will be a really nice way to end the season to see where he stands. 2 games under his belt and Rivera's defense will test him out. He did get happy feet a few times yesterday but I can understand that when the defensive line is at the handoff by the time the ball is snapped.
If I were to help Tebow on offense through the draft, I would draft a TE thats able to take the short-medium routes with bootlegs. The team really doesn't have that anymore and it'll help to have a safety valve.
As for a head coach, I dont care who it is as long as they dont overpay (may be an issue considering the state of the defense). Just fix the "defense" as its a bigger joke than last year. I will be severely disappointed if the draft isn't heavily favored in the defense.Last edited by av7; 12-27-2010, 12:30 PM.Aaron

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
The official Bronco forums is just as bad. The brakes need to be pumped, hard. "Over/Under Tebow has 30 TDs next year"
Tebow will start vs San Diego, as if there was any doubt coming into the regular week that Orton wouldnt get to finish the season.Aaron

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
Ya, I was afraid of this. Here's the deal - if he had sucked it up these first two starts those same people would say you can't draw conclusions, he hasn't had time, etc. Now he does pretty well in those two starts and he's John Elway/Steve Young re-incarnate. Oh well..."People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring." - Rogers HornsbyComment

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
With regards to Tebow:
I've been impressed but not overwhelmed and I do think there is potential. I will admit that I am glad I'm not the one who has to make the decision on what to do with Orton.
He seemed to look much more comfortable yesterday once McCoy let him get into a rythym. They just need to let him keep passing to see what he can or can't do.
I think the biggest thing with Tebow is going to be having a successful running game. He has shown he can throw fine out of the pocket, but being able to PA is going to be a huge factor in his success.
The only thing that concerns me is it is VERY early. He played two games thus far and based on the game film from his first game, I dont think the already putrid Texans defense was prepared for some of the things they saw from him.
If he is a starter and defenses can prepare for him, I don't think he will look the same way he did yesterday.
I want to see the Broncos trade down regardless of the pick they have. One or two impact players will not be enough to help this defense. They desperately need a MLB who can cover. Their underneath pass defense is dreadful and they have to be able to create more turnovers.
And unrealated, can we create two Bronco threads? One for actual Bronco discussion and another one for people who just want to come and praise Tebow?Comment

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
I've put a disclaimer in my signature to not get lumped in.
Another season and I still want to try Woodyard at safety. I know its not a plug-n-play transition but with his athleticism, I want to see if it can work.
After reading articles, I'm getting the feeling we'll see Kubiak here. I'll be happy to have him and somehow get Nolan back here whenever Miami blows up its staffAaron
