Okung please let it be Okung. If not then they have to trade down and take the next best tackle. If I see one more mock with the skins taking a QB...

If we pick young emu, I'm leaving the Skins.

I can't deal with that sort of longterm incompetence. The Os, Nats, and Wizards may suck, but at least they generally appear to be trying to win and seem to understand their sport on some level.

#1, don't claim Baltimore when it's convenient. You don't like my city or my football team so you're not allowed to lump in the O's in any comparison. Especially since they FINALLY are doing things right... took them over a decade.

#2, the Nats haven't shown anything (unfortunately). They basically have shown to be willing to sign the Labron James of MLB prospects. I hope they do eventually get on the map but lets not jump the gun.

#3, so far the Wiz have dumped the best team players and leader on defense and are hanging onto the suspended guy that might get locked up.

The truth of the matter (giving you sh*t aside) is that outside of the Ravens and the Caps, all the teams in the area are still a joke. I guess I can give the Hoyas hoops team a pass too.

Washington didn't have a team when I was growing up, and the Orioles were my favorite sports team growing up.

I've always said they were my favorite baseball team.

Given that his contract wasn't the most popular thing in the national media, I'd say it's a pretty big step.

Haywood was probably gone after this year, Caron would be gone after next year, and Jamison cannot carry a team. Jamison and Butler clearly have not been able to carry a team like it appeared they could have after 2008 and blowing them up now is a better idea than the team slowly deteriorating over the next 3 years.

The truth of the matter (giving you sh*t aside) is that outside of the Ravens and the Caps, all the teams in the area are still a joke.
They're all bad, but the Redskins are probably the closest team to being good yet the franchise has not shown any desire to address any major problem with the team.

You know I was just messing with you about the O's. As for the Nats and Wiz they both have done the "right" thing but that doesn't mean they're on their way. I'd say both were forced to play the hands they did. It's more a case of them still having a chance to be considered legit franchises by doing these things, rather than doing them making them "on their way".

I agree with you about the Skins though. I also think it's easiest to turn an NFL team around, but considering the approach the Skins have taken over the recent years, I'd say they're clearly moving in the right direction now (we'll see what they do in the draft before I agree 100%). I'd say they are at the stage the O's were in just before the Bedard and Tejada trades. Good place to be but they've gotta continue to follow through.

Just read on the redskins blog, that the skins are gonna tender an offer to Jason Campbell, and Shanny expects him to be at the mini-camp. Also interesting he has done no evaluation of Colt "Da GOAT" yet.

Will someone confirm that these will not happen to the team......

Aside from that there seems to be alot going on with the team right now (according to the thread in the main forum.) What do you guys think? Talk of a 3-4, going after more expensive players.....

Im not holding hopes up to high for next season but i think it will be a fun year to watch.

I kind of thought the 'Skins would go after Peppers, but whatever I'm not sure what to expect this off season.

So what do we think of the cuts.... I havent seen a full list but I am sad to see a guy like Rock Cartwright go. I am happy we still have Campbell tho.

The cuts were a clear sign that the team is being run like a business now. Cartwright's a great guy and has been loyal but what is he really good for? He's an average RB and as good as he is on special teams, have you ever thought of him as Devin Hester? They can do better with his spot considering the team's needs. Same with ARE. Even Betts was just a poor man's version of Portis. The back up RB should compliment the starter. I honestly didn't see one cut that I thought was bad.

After watching Rock fill in this year, it made me like him more. No hes not a great back(he came in the league as fb anyway) but he isnt a liability either. He gets out there and does work on special teams and i value that. I dont think he is much worse than any other #3 back in the league but adds alot on ST(defense). Also just to be clear I dont think he was a good return man but he did his job and didnt fumble kickoffs trying to do to much juking/cuts. That said its more of a sad to see him go thing not really that I think it will hurt the team badly.

As for ARE, I understand that one. We got him to be a punt returner and he failed at that. DOnt think he was horrible as a WR but think Kelly and Thomas will be better. Betts I knew would be gone even though I would rather have him than Portis. I just looked up the rest of the cuts and your right.

                                Now on to other stuff.......

Is it official we have changed to 3-4? What other changes are we making that im missing. For as quiet as this thread as been I would have thought we havent done a thing.
