Re: The Official Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
Wouldn't mind Carrington.
Don't like having to go DL 1st round. Hoping they sign someone so that they can target Gilbert or Evans in the 1st.Last edited by tripwire; 03-14-2014, 07:34 AM.Comment

Re: The Official Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
All that I've read about Carrington seems like he would be a decent signing. I still think we go CB in round one if Gilbert is around. I know some drafts have Nix being mocked to the Steelers, but I don't know about his knees.Comment

Re: The Official Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
Now that the Lions signed Tate, i don't see them going for Evans. Steelers cannot pass on either Gilbert or Evans. I'm optimistic that one of these talents will drop to them.Last edited by tripwire; 03-14-2014, 08:11 AM.Comment

Re: The Official Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
I was watching Path to the Draft last night on NFL network and they mocked us taking Odell Beckham. Evans and Gilbert were both gone on their board. And speaking of NFL Network, I've been loving Steelers Dynasty week. All the specials and Super Bowl XIII yesterday and XIV today. My kids loved watching all the old footage and interviews.
One of my co-workers had been watching (Falcons fan). Today he came by my desk and said he didn't know Pitt was the first team to win back to back SB, 3 total, 4 total and first to 6. Also the only to win 4 SB in a 6 year span. Good stuff.Rod Woodson

Re: The Official Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
Definitely don't want Nix or the 1st, or any DL really unless we traded back. Unfortunately, with the Lions signing Tate, I don't think Gilbert gets by them. Hopefully, they go with the hometown boy and take Dennard instead. Not sure what the Lions run D wise, but if they do a lot of man, then Dennard is a good fit. Press man is all he played really. Evans has a better chance of falling to us now though.

As for the Steelers draft, I don't know who they'll take. Had been thinking they'd go DB, but with losing practically the entire DLine and not really doing much in FA, they almost have to go DLine now. I also found it interesting that they brought in Maurice Jones-Drew for a visit. I guess they're not looking to bring back Felix Jones or LaRod Stephens-Howling to be Bell's primary backup after both were lost early in the season due to injuries.Steelers : IX, X, XIII, XIV, XL, XLIII

Re: The Official Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
Not sold on Dennard, even though he fits the mold of a Steeler corner, and looks look Ike 2.0.
Lions will probably take Gilbert at #10. The only team we need to worry about is the Rams at #13 taking Evans. The Bears at #14 will probably go DT or CB.
If Evans gets past the Rams, he should be the Steeler pick. If that doesn't happen, then Steelers will probably be choosing between Mosley, Dennard, or Nix.Comment

Re: The Official Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
Actually that part is incorrect. They were the 3rd team to win back-to-back SB, Packers won I and II, Dolphins won VII and VIII.

I'm hoping they restructure Timmons and sign sign someone. There's still a few out there. I was shocked at MJD visiting and he's back again today. I guess his asking $ are not as high as I thought.Rod Woodson

And yeah, its not looking like Gilbert or Evans will be there. I had hoped the Lions would sign a FA CB instead of WR to improve our odds. I've been seeing some mocks lately with us taking Ebron at #15.Rod Woodson

Re: The Official Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
Main thing I worry about with Dennard is he's a press man guy and we mostly play zone. He's supposedly not too good with zone.

Re: The Official Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
Thoughts on the schedule? I'm not a fan of having a short week game in Baltimore in Week 2, and having to play the Bengals twice in the final weeks. The schedule itself is decent and we even get a late bye week for onceComment

Re: The Official Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
I don't mind the Bengals twice in December, just hope they are meaningful games and yeah the late bye is definitely nice.
My favorite thing about the schedule is that their coming to Atlanta! I always go when they're here and Steeler Nation always takes over the Dome.Rod Woodson

3 – OLB J. Attaochu, Ga. Tech
4 – OT A. Richardson, Tennessee
5 – ILB, J. Zumalt, UCLA
5 – CB W. Aikens, Liberty
6 – WR J. Brown, Pittsburgh State
6 – OLB L. Webster, Bloomsburg
