Re: Official NY "IN THE COMPANY OF GIANTS" Thread
Yea I don't get it either Johnson hasn't even thrown a pass in a real game in years, I know Nassib struggled in preseason but damn, not to mention I think they had to swallow $1m + in releasing Brinkley, something behind the scenes definitely must be up that is not known public if not then wtf

I'm 95% sure that it isn't completely Spags's fault, but I need for someone else to do an equally bad job in his role to make it 100. I cant stand seeing him call plays and our defense look the same as it did last year.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

Re: Official NY "IN THE COMPANY OF GIANTS" Thread
I'll take the win but it wasn't pretty and certainly wasn't as dominant as it should've been.
Dallas to me did not look very good. We stopped the run for the first half, Morris found some openings in the second. Dak is getting a ton of praise, but he was without pressure on many of his attempts, the few where we had heat on him (mostly JPP and Vernon, even the early DRC blitz) he seemed to chuck it into the dirt for incomplete passes. It's annoying to see Witten be open over the middle on every play, but we knew linebacker and safety play was going to be our weakness, Darian Thompson and Nat Berhe looked alright.
Our offense looked good in spurts, but there were some lapses hopefully time irons out. Shep gave up on his curl route, but Eli didn't even look over there before he tried to throw a timing route to a rookie, just a mental error. Too many first down runs getting stuffed and we kept going to them, the shotgun draw will continue to be the death of me. Not worried on that side though, I think we'll figure it out and be a top unit, we have so much talent. Seeing the salsa dance was glorious, with OBJ snapping pics, just made me happy. Football is back and so are the Giants!
New Orleans at home next week, hopefully our line gets more pressure. Obviously that Dallas line is OP but if Drew has that much time to throw it's going to be another shootout like last year. Vernon and JPP are gonna make sure that doesn't happen though.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

Re: Official NY "IN THE COMPANY OF GIANTS" Thread
I'm confident that we have a running plays playbook of all of three plays.
We definitely did a great job on Elliot, though we're slightly lucky Morris didn't see the field more, I think.Comment

Re: Official NY "IN THE COMPANY OF GIANTS" Thread
I was more impressed with the job we did on Dez. He was shutdown completely by the team. We sacrificed it all to stop him and Zeke.
I just hope the defense gets more three and outs. Dallas drives were too lobgComment

Re: Official NY "IN THE COMPANY OF GIANTS" Thread
Hi
I think all in all the first game was pretty good, the offense started to find its rhythm, Cruz was back and productive not just a decoration piece as well as Shepard made a great catch in the end zone. Teams are going to have nightmares trying to stop this passing game once it's rolling full throttle.
The D played very bend but don't break style, I'm just glad they didn't blow the lead, they shut down one of the best wr in the game and did decent against one of the top O lines in the game. I think as the new additions get more reps together and schemes more understood it will be a solid group
More pressure on QB is definitely the big thing that needs improvement

Re: Official NY "IN THE COMPANY OF GIANTS" Thread
Losing is losing but that didn't make any sense yesterday man.
Why are we throwing fades to the 3rd string running back in the red zone, why not someone who could, I dunno, make a play on the ball? We've got OBJ, Shepard and Cruz and we had a dropped TD almost picked off (should've been) and 2 picks thrown trying to thread the needle to backup tight ends. Use your ****ing weapons McAdoo, this isn't Green Bay and Eli isn't Aaron Rodgers.
The defense gets the **** end of the stick because they played with such poor field position for the majority of the game but terrible penalties on defense and special teams interspersed with leisurely walks down the field just make it so frustrating man. We have too much talent on both sides of the ball to be playing like this. It's just the same old playing stupid we've had to deal with for the last few years.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

This team is an abomination and McAdoo is doing a very poor job of keeping his players accountable. He is very obviously a rookie head coach.Comment
