I know this thread name is xbox, but seeing theres quite a few PS4 replies here, including mine. Is the blurry/720 thingy an xbox issue only? I dont have that problem on PS4.
Im using the default camera abd it seems crisp enough.
Can see some ads on the boards are not high rez in the close ups, but thats nothing new.

Where is the demo? I have Xbox 360 and a Ps4. It is to come out today right?

Nope I'm on PS4. It is grainy, looks like it's 720p.

I have been smashing madden all day and diablo all week and coming from those beautiful 1080p games something is definitely up with the visuals here.

The menu screens, stat overlays are fine but players arenas, ice etc are blurry.

I don't see any blurriness on the xb1 demo. Game looks beautiful, just like Madden.

I"m only guessing, but maybe the ones with the grain effect should re download the demo. I had to re download games before. I have the ethernet hooked op to my ps4, and wi fi on the ps3. Some games on the ps3 I downloaded from ps+ were bad looking until i put the ethernet on the ps3 for a fast download, and it looked like a normal game. Plus maybe since a lot of people are downloading the game or psn is updating there could be data loss. I"m only guessing.

I have downloaded the UK demo on my PS4, and it is definitely not just you. There is something very wrong, visually, with this game. The entire game looks like it's smothered in a sub-native resolution vasoline filter, much like EA UFC.

I scored 25 straight breakaways. Then I stopped.

I scored 25 straight wrist shots. Then I stopped.

I played a few games as both teams. AI did feel a bit better hockey wise. Especially when I was player locked on the center. They moved the puck decent.

Still way too easy to gain the zone. Sliders won't fix that.

All of the above was played on all star hardcore..

As a die hard hockey fan and gamer I'm just really frustrated with this series. I understand they don't have the man power on the Dev team other games have, but man.

can you not adjust the sliders (if there is any) to make scoring a little difficult?

Played on Hardcore, Sim

- still no loose pucks, pucks magically go to a stick

- i saw the AI setup behind their own net, wow!

- every AI player plays the same

- you can still waltz into the zone with no pressure, no pressure in the neutral zone.

Game feels like NHL14 with some paint. Players look kinda odd. Gameplay has no hockey flow to it.

I was hoping that these will be addressed since these are the existing issues since 2010 i think. Its been 5 years now and still not addressed.


I work at home but cant squeeze in to play this game, though im PS4 user. Probably I could play the demo tomorrow or Thursday. But I appreciate you both for taking the time to write your impressions.

I don't see any blurriness on the xb1 demo. Game looks beautiful, just like Madden.

TBF your probably used to 720p on the xbox one. Believe me 1080p doesn't look like that.

So far PS4 is better experience than the One except for the goalie. Skating and movement feels smoother to me, more intuitive feel through the controller. The XONE feels a bit clunky in comparison.

Sorry for X1 users...but this sounds great if its true

-The game is really fun, a lot of fun. Now I'm not a hockey purist/nut like some here, so there are things I may not notice that others would, but I would consider myself a hardcore sports sim guy, and that said I really like the game. It's gone from a definite "no buy" to a possible purchase depending on the EA Access trial or more specifically the features included in Be A GM mode.

Yes, my purchase will depend on this demo and the X1 users who will get the EA access trial. I have this for rent as well....so let's see....crossing my fingers... I want to have a hockey game in PS4 but under the conditions.

It sure would be great if a NZ pressure slider was added at some point.

Please please please please x 1,000,000 have this slider...and make it work

AGAIN: The demo comes with the store update, and the store doesn't update until 5PM EST or later. Why is this news to people?

It's just odd that there's such a difference between XB1 availability and PS4 availability.
