Hey guys pretty new here but thought I would post about GM mode. I am currently in the 2019-2020 season with the St. Louis Blues. We won the cup in 2017 and have gotten to the finals 2 other times. We have made the playoffs every year. I'll try and give you a quick summary of the trades I have done and the current lineup.



Trades:

Patrik Berglund and a third round pick for Arizona's first round

David Backes(he was getting old and i was pretty torn on this one) and a second round pick(maybe a first instead) for Matt Duchene

Jay Bouwmeester and a second round pick for Jared Tinordi



Those were the main ones in first few year there were some others.

Right now I am looking into some better defense men as that seems to be the weakest part of the team. Also currently have a very good goalie prospect in the AHL and will look to see if he can start next year.

I thought Dmitri Kulikov was a defenseman?

He is but this is another one haha I drafted him in the 2016 draft. He is a left winger/playmaker.

Yeah, if that was my team, broken controller time!

I had one game where the puck was going wide and then it turned 90 degrees mid air and went into the goal. I took 4 shots of Cuervo after that.

Haha nice and good response to that happening. My worst moment ever was in NHL 14 where i had the puck behind my net with a defensemen and a fore checker came aroud after me and i skated the other way. He poke checked and tripped me for a penalty but my defensemen upon following backhanded it top left into my own net.

@Braeden I would suggest the Minnesota Wild or Colorado Avalanche. Colorado has been struggling early on this season with highly skilled forwards and Minnesota is a team that can use their speed to be exciting, such as in the playoffs last year. Would love to see you do another Dynasty in the Dynasty Threads.

Round 2 of the 2015 Stanley Cups Playoffs begins tonight. Here are the matchups

Chicago Blackhawks eliminated the Minnesota Wild in 5 Games. Marian Hossa scored 6 goals in the series. Antti Raanta struggled in game 1 allowing 4 goals on 14 shots and was eventually pulled but regained his confidence throughout the series as he recorded a 30 save shutout in a series clinching game 5 and named the first star of the game reassuring Barack Obama's decision to trade Corey Crawford saying " Antti Raanta, Undrafted? Antti Goal, unbeatable."

Started with Florida. No one is above 85 overall, so this will be an interesting GM Mode.

Only made one trade right now, but I thought it was good.

To Anaheim:

Also trying to get D Joni Pitkanen and LW Ryan Jones, but no guarantees.

What a game! We win our 4th in a row as we beat Nashville, 3-2 in a shootout. It was a fantastic game though. Nashville scores short handed on a goal where Jake Allen was pushed out of the net by his own defense man (my fault). They go up 1-0 after one period. We have a great 2nd period, but can't manage to crack Rinne, still 1-0 after two periods. Third period we score to tie the game at 1, but Nashville quickly scores to go back ahead 2-1. With less than 5 minutes remaining, Patrik Elias scores on a rebound and the crowd goes nuts, game tied 2-2. No goals after that and we go into the shoot out and Steen and Stastny score to seal the win! Allen stopped all shoot out shots.

They must have talked about Pekka Rinne (going to the cut scene where they talk about a player) 6 or 7 times. I've never seen them talk about a player like that before, but he was amazing.

Next up is Washington, last game of the home stand! Alexander Ovechkin is tied for the overall goal lead with 15 so far this season.

In other news, Pittsburgh has won 8 straight and are 12-1-1.

Right now I'm in hockey gaming heaven with NHL 15, finally.

Jackman is out though.. so Chris Butler will take his spot.

Been dominating on all star sim. My team is like 45-8-5.

I play as the Ducks and my goalies are absolutely atrocious. Their attributes arent bad, but because I win so often the computer scores on even the most terrible shots at the blue line. Both my goalies are last in the NHL in save % at around 75 %.

Summary:
I am a rather rookie to the hockey scene, and to the game. I don't know much about the game of hockey just had fun playing the game, and bought it. So I decided to start a MyGM and log it. My first game was me getting throttled, however, I think in due time I will get better.
