Re: How's Your GM Mode Going?
We beat Calgary 4-1 for our first win of the season! Backes had two goals and Elliott stopped 27 out of 28 shots. Next up we hit the road and head to LA to take on the Stanley Cup Champion LA Kings.Comment

Re: How's Your GM Mode Going?
Played lots of games tonight. The Senators sit at 32-20-6 last 10 games 5-3-2. Bobby Ryan has lost his scoring mojo... Indeed the whole first line Michalek-Turris-Ryan is ice cold right now. For luck 2nd and 3rd lines have scored well.
Did some trades:
Colin Greening and a first round pick went to Florida for kopecky and bergenheim. Chris Neill went to buffalo For meszaros and Stewart. Not star kaliber moves but had been useful. Especially bergenheim and kopecky have played well. I might trade meszaros and something else for some decent scoring defenseman... Any ideas?
Last game I lost to the road match against the Ducks after penalties, next one is a tough match in Los angeles against the local club...Comment

Ahh, one phrase missing. Neil, first round pick and one hot prospect for mez and stew.
Played two games tonight. Won L.A. 4-1 Ryan scored a hat trick. Lost away to San jose 1-0. Now back home to meet Minnesota. It will be a tough match.

Re: How's Your GM Mode Going?
We fall to 1-3-0 after Arizona kills us, 5-0. Paul Stastny gets injured and will be out for at least 10 days. We call up Ty Rattie, maybe he'll ignite a spark on this team. We head to Anaheim to take on the Ducks who are also 1-3-0 and without Ryan Getzlaf.
Would be nice to finish this road trip with a win!Comment

Re: How's Your GM Mode Going?
Picking up Stewart and bolstering your defense with Meszaros was a really smart move for the Sens, great moves. I'm assuming you're looking for the playoff push? What's your updated record? Good luck in the coming games.Detroit Red Wings

How's Your GM Mode Going?
Idk how long its been since I last posted, but here I go.
Started a GM Mode with Nashville. Way too many centers on the team, so I made a couple of trades.
To Detroit:
C Derek Roy
C Mike Ribiero
To Nashville:
LW Gustav Nyquist
2015 6th round pick
To Boston:
C Matt Cullen
2015 3rd round pick
To Nashville:
RW Reilly Smith
I thought the Boston trade was a great deal for me. I signed RW Colby Armstrong and LW Ryan Jones. I thought my defense was good, so I didn't touch it.
Going 9-5-1 with the Preds (simming games) so I think my team is gonna do alright this year.
Do you think those trades were good? Let me know.Comment

Re: How's Your GM Mode Going?
Anaheim beats us 4-3 and we go win less on the road trip.
Even this early in the season, I feel like we need a shake up. We have a ton of centers and I would like another left winger, preferably a veteran with playoff experience. After looking at the team trade blocks, I give the New Jersey GM a call and we spend hours working on a deal for LW Patrik Elias. After several hours and a night to sleep on it, I give him another call and we finally ink this deal:
To Blues:
LW Patrik Elias
D Adam Larsson
To New Jersey:
C Steve Ott
D Carl Gunnarsson
Ott was a do it all player for us, killing penalties and bringing a toughness to the 4th line. I tried to deal Jackman, but they wanted Gunnarsson. I think Larsson will learn a lot from Shattenkirk and even though Elias is 38 and has a decent sized contract, he'll bring his two Stanley Cup Championships experience with him to St. Louis. He still has one more year on this contract too, which might make our cap compliance a bit more complicated next year.Comment

Re: How's Your GM Mode Going?
We insert Elias and Larsson into the starting lineup and introduce them to the sell out crowd at Scottrade.
Elias gets two assists as we play our best game of the season and crush goaltender Ryan Miller and the Vancouver Canucks 7-2!
We get a day off and then the Central Division leading Chicago Blackhawks come to town.Comment

Re: How's Your GM Mode Going?
And then what has happened:
Won Minnesota 3-1. It was a tough match as predicted. Eventually scored 3 times in the third.
Next up was Winnipeg. Bitter loss 3-2. That one was the last of our road trip games. Minnesota was also a road match. Referring to my earlier post I thought it was already a home game but no.
Finally when we got back home, we met the Sabres. Won 4-2 with Karlsson returning to roster from injury. Bad luck though, I lost Ryan for 10 days. Ceci is also out.
Next match is against Calgary(32-27-6) at home.
We are second in the division with the record 35-22-6. Looking good considering the playoffs... But those road games give me gray hair. So much less energy in those than playing at home. It will kill me in the playoffs if we make it there.
Lots of things in my mind about this game. I don't give a **** about those whiners who do think this game is a disaster etc. Good, competitive versatile matches throughout with own custom sliders. I don't even bother writing everything down here, but I find this hell a lot of a fun!!Last edited by lpmuston; 11-12-2014, 04:29 PM.Comment
