I love this video. It's amazing how mad I can be at EA, but his enthusiasm can make me happy lol.

Re: Must Watch Video—Player Differentiation
I think a good comparison would be someone with the attribute slides at the very minimum, vs someone with them maxed out. Knowing EA, that won't matter much, but I feel that it would hopefully be a more apparent difference, but, it might not be. Obviously, the point of the video was to show differences in players that people can see and know in real hockey.
I've always wanted to sim games with a team of all 99 players against a team of all minimum OVR players. Just to see if there's really much to the attributes in the game. I never noticed a difference between some rookie AHL call up and my all-star starting goalie, so i can't imagine it's as large of a difference as it should be.Comment

Regardless of my opinion or not...
Dude, show some examples. You just talk about one thing, I don't care if you're right or wrong (OK I think you're very wrong and just side-stepping), show some examples. Don't wuss out if you initiate.Comment

Re: Must Watch Video—Player Differentiation
1. The problems are all left over from last-gen.
2. It's their first year, but the second cycle on next-gen. This go around's games have been their respective titles' cream of the crop, and that's consensus. EA should have that same technical level. They clearly don't.Comment

Re: Must Watch Video—Player Differentiation
Remeber when they first released NHL in then new 360 and PS3 with NHL07, man, the stick made the difference for me. EA did not have any 1 year break then. Now, the only made the difference is the presentation. Sure, give them credit on that, but that did not change everything with the glaring issues (ex. player/team differentiation, like this video). Its all eye-candy and very bad to health (candy contains much sugar that could lead to many illnesses).
It will be close to MIRACLE if EA can pull this off in NHL 16. If not, I think that would be the end of NHL video game until one company will produce a great game.Comment

Re: Must Watch Video—Player Differentiation
I've played a ton of current gen NHL 15 and I'm glad this video was posted, because after playing 5 games last night of last gen NHL 15, there is no doubt player separation is much greater on last gen. That's not to say I haven't enjoyed current gen NHL 15, because I've played it for what it is and had a good time with BeaGM, but it's refreshing to play last gen and see someone like Tarasenko fly around the ice and eat up a weak defense flying in on the wing to get a good shot off.
I also appreciate the little things in last gen like PP stats, goals scored showing number of goals after a goal, better defense AI, more goalie animations, etc.
Hopefully NHL 16 current gen is a much, much improved game all around.Comment

Re: Must Watch Video—Player Differentiation
While NHL 14 was solely on 360/PS3, other games produced a version on 360/PS3 AND XB1/PS4. This year those games are into their second year on Gen-4 and have been the best of their title. My point is that based off that, NHL has the tech to make the same strides (which I expect next year) but a decision was made to, essentially, set it one year back.Comment

It is the 1st NHL release, but it is Gen-4's SECOND development cycle.

Re: Must Watch Video—Player Differentiation
The game has been developed for one "cycle". While I don't support the quality of product, it's important to understand that EA the publisher and EA the development team are two entities. Is the upset over this game due to them not being able to do two years worth of work in one year? If not, then I agree with the original poster, this is their first crack at it and I'm hopeful that they will do their best to iron it out.
I agree that the game will be better next year. I simply disagree with the excuse that "it's their first year." Look at NBA 2k—they released all the modes for 2k14 Gen-4, and this year improved the gameplay significantly. Now I know the team size is different, but 2k14 didn't have tech help from other teams.Comment

Did you know, that, the problem is also in offline modes? Did—did you get that? No, you didn't.Comment
