I am sorry if this has been addressed or mentioned before but MLB the Show 16 has introduced Sounds of the Show back into it's game. I believe it would make a huge difference in the NHL series to get this feature back.

Re: NHL 17 Wishlist Thread
As some have noted, player equipment could really use a touch-up. That's why I hope EA puts in a way to share rosters and edited players (which itself could use a complete overhaul). With the NHL there are just so many players to keep up with. Guys might switch pads or the way they wear their visor in the course of a season, and understandably, that's a lot to track. That said, there are fans of the game who are more than happy to create their favorite players, edit their faces, and get all of the team's equipment 100% accurate. If you've got a fan-base willing to do the work for free, why not give them the means?
Another thing I think would be helpful is the ability to send guys out ahead of you. EA's FIFA series has something similar. I believe hitting the Right Bumper would send the guy ahead of you running forward, so you could pass the ball to them. It was great for getting the ball up through coverage, because if timed right you could have them push between defenders and make a clean pass ahead of them. In EA's NHL, too often guys are just standing and waiting. Sure, I can pass to the winger standing near their blue line...but he's just going to get swarmed, because he's not moving.Comment

Re: NHL 17 Wishlist Thread
I would like that they make EASHL more authentic network career with your own franchise. It wouldn't even take too much. For example at the beginning your team would have to play 30-50 games long evalution period which will result your starting division. After that the first season begins. There would be standings for each season with a fair amount of teams. Still you would play against teams outside your own league but you compete against those teams in your standings chart. Promotion isn't automatic with certain amount of points, you would have to win your league(goal difference with same points and so on)
Also to make it work like a charm with excitement the seasons should feel like a season. So they could be at least 30 games long.
What comes to your own eashl character this could create real career statistics where you can see your personal records from each season with the totals at the bottom.
Division 4 - season 3 25gp 13+10=23 -5 32min
Division 3 - season 4 13gp 24+8=32 +6 8min
Career stats 38gp 37+18=55 +1 40min
There could also been some awards for each vital category winners in player stats and so on.
What comes to player development itself. I think there could be something you can gain. For example after you hit the prestige level or gain some major success in the league season, you would get some boost points. Let's say 5-10 for the role you have played the most. So it wouldn't really affect too much but still there is something to chase for.
That's about it.
Have a great summer!Comment

Re: NHL 17 Wishlist Thread
One idea I've always thought would be cool would be when you won the Stanley Cup, the celebration was realistic looking and they gave you a chance to skate with the Cup with some (or all) of your best players and press different buttons to celebrate like how it is after you score a goal.
Thought that would make it feel a bit more "worth it" to play like 100+ games to win the Cup.Comment

Re: NHL 17 Wishlist Thread
Study NBA 2K16. Include an Owner, with goals. Ability to hire/fire coaches, scouts, trainers. And have those folks add or subtract attributes based on their strengths weaknesses. Add to the social media with something similar to what Madden has, the story central with a pic of a player or prospect and headlines for big games, milestones, contract issues, playing time - like what one would see on NHL.com or ESPN. Show season goal totals when someone scores - like I have in NHL 14.
Have trading be like NBA 2K's Allow multi-team trades. Make the draft more like NBA also. Have some animation with the commissioner and the owners/mgt. and the drafted players putting on their jersey and taking a pic - just for your BAP or your team's top picks in BAGM.
Improve stat tracking. Hot and Cold streaks. Show team leaders, like what NHL.com does for GF, GF, GA, PK, PPG, etc. Provide team rankings. Have team scouting reports that can be reviewed prior games. How the opponent is doing offensively, defensively. Their last opponent and the result. Any streaks. Anyone hot or cold. Injuries.
Have injuries be more like NBA 2K's system. Different body parts that can be susceptible to injury. Have cumulative wear and tear and fatigue that can lead to injury. Have a screen that shows fatigue/health levels visually so as a coach, we can make a decision. Include IR process.
Include owner mode stuff. Ticket prices, concessions, parking, travel expenses, stadium and staff expenses. Marketing revenue opps through advertising and TV money (shared revenue).
For career stats, add in the teams players were on. For goalies, track w-l-OTL, along with SOW/SOLs and show it.
I think creatively 2K does so much right with their NBA product. If Madden and NHL adopted some of those RPG type elements, the immersion potential would be much greater and hopefully would translate into more units sold.Comment

Re: NHL 17 Wishlist Thread
There's no real feeling of being in the NHL. You're just a team, playing another team on any given night. Look at the end of this season, for example. You had teams who were struggling to catch up, teams that had clinched, and teams that were playing spoiler.
In the NHL series, everything is so sterile and boring. You don't hear "Tarasenko scores on the powerplay, giving him his 39th goal of the season, and tying him for first with Alex Ovechkin". There's just no feeling of existing in a world. No rumor mill, no players demanding trades, no real rush at the trade deadline. It's all so flat.Comment

Re: NHL 17 Wishlist Thread
- actual board-play and lots of it.
- a lot more physical play. THIS IS HOCKEY!
- more and better goalie animations
- better teammate AI
- better goalie AI
- more CPU awareness about what's going on around them
- AI more dump and chase and running to the boards
- more and a lot better celebrations
- a lot of in-game stat graphics. Including stats, that aren't currently in the game. Such as scoring chances, odd-man rushes etc. Also, stats that are in-game, but not shown. Would love to have a lot of in-game stat graphics.Last edited by TheBuddyHobbs; 04-16-2016, 03:41 PM.Comment

Re: NHL 17 Wishlist Thread
BeaPro
Play in different leagues around the world
play for the national team in the Olympics or IIHF or Hockey World Cup
in general
real looking fights
more realistic moments like rival teams getting into a scrap after the whistle(players grabbing and shoving in a pack at the bench were the refs are trying to break it up)
ref mode
Zamboni mode during intermission. not a mini game though
KHL needs to be added.
no more bull****ting on euro league player overalls for some
college teams( minus the real players. like ncaa football games)
realistic fan turnouts good teams fill out(Montreal, Boston, San Jose) bad teams dont(Florida{sadly there good but no fan turnouts} buffalo
different Language's for announcers.(french swedish german russian)
online customizer(like fifa
be a gm
control more than just nhl teams( let use manage chl or euro leagues)
relocate
change stadium
build a new stadium
coach national teams
would also love a first person camra choice when in eashl or be a pro.(would work if also a be a ref mode(ref career) or be a coach mode)Comment

1. Neutral zone positioning pressure
2. Would love to be able to chip the puck forward...speedy players used realistically for once.Comment

Re: NHL 17 Wishlist Thread
-5 man goal celebrations. Enough already. This is next gen, no more excuses about how it's not in because players like Chara make the celebrations look weird and awkward if he's hugging smaller guys. Figure it out.
-Updated NBC Presentation/MORE STATS during season mode that pop up a lot. Overload it if that is what it takes. I want to see more
-Doc has to have his enthusiasm in this game. Take recordings from real games and put it in the game. I don't see why this would be hard to do. Hopefully for these playoff games, they're tapped into his mic and put it into this game. I can't stand hearing the same boring "scorreeee...and this one is tieeeeeeed or "scoreee and the game is eeeeeveennnnn." It has been TWO years, GET HIS SIGNATURE GOAL CALLS IN THIS GAME! No more excuses! The same goal calls are in for a preseason game as it is in the stanley cup playoffs/finals! The technology is there to do it if it can't be done with him in studio! EA UFC has the SAME issues with Bruce Buffer not being able to bring it fully in studio. So what did they do? For the entrances they used his ACTUAL audio from the fights and put it into the game. So don't say it can't be done or that Doc's goal calls are in the game already...we all know they aren't. When you pin the team in the zone Doc gets a little excited but much is needed to improve it from the "why isn't he shooting" line that he says every single time you pin the opposition or they pin you for awhile.
-Goalies need to be completely overhauled. Each and every goalie plays exactly the same. Eddie Lack coming in fixed some small things, but they need to seriously re-haul everything. When was the last time you came flying down the wing and sniped a shot with a flick of the right stick 5 hole or glove high without using an exploit? You see it all the time in the NHL but never in the NHL series. The goalies are stiff and lack animations. When the puck is behind them they just sit there or do that ridiculous turn around and throw/wave the stick animation. It looks nothing like real life.
-The A.I. needs to be completely re-written "from the ground up." I am tired of seeing the AI during offline mode not be able to enter the zone and turn around and around until all of your players are out of position and then they dump it in and zig zag all over the place. It's unrealistic and makes the game look awful. You can truly see how awful the AI is picking 2 teams and having the computer play as both. Just awful
-Make player differentiation/speed matter! If I'm a Crosby or Ovechkin, I still don't feel like I'm anything close to them at all.
-The pinning/board mechanic needs to be completely redone as well as this has been the same way for how long?
DJ NEO/other game changers can you PLEASE let us know if they plan on fixing these things or have/are looking into this for NHL 17? I can't take another game that has the same issues over and over again and minor things are just fixed.Last edited by csamuelsvt; 04-19-2016, 10:12 AM.Comment

Re: NHL 17 Wishlist Thread
For me:
1. Goalies
2. Online Coop in Be a GM (even if not GM Connected, love to play with my buddies in franchise or a season)
3. AI
4. No more destination puck (even though that has gotten better, still not great, challenge that by watching poke checks, very rarely they go to space, they always end up on a stick)
As a whole, I played a full season and playoffs for the first time since 2k10. I really do enjoy this game, alot! But without #2 above, I can't see myself getting 17.Comment

Re: NHL 17 Wishlist Thread
Custom Images.
This could be used for multiple reasons, and it is absolutely possible. WWE 2k has it down, and I think if EA could implement it into their game, this could be a big step into added realism. Think of what could be done:
-Goalie masks
-Logos
-Ads (ice/boards)
-Facepacks (So when you create a player, be yourself or prospects not in the game, it has a proper image instread of the blscked out face)
-Hell, even in WWE they have custom cyberfaces you can do! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lbvxbf7d5Rs
The list could go on and on, and hey while we're talking about custom stuff, why not custom teams. WWE/NBA/(probably more!) hve a thing for tattoo's that I think could be perfect for jerseys.
Say you start out with a jersey. No stripes/logos. Just a plain jersey. You can pick templates, or you can make your own. Start with the base color of the jersey, use your uploaded logo, and start designing it. You should be given lines that you can make bigger/smaller and you can move them anywhere on the jersey. Allow full movement of these lines for complete customization of the jerseys.
It may not be as simple for them to make as it seems, but it shouldnt take longer than NHL 18 if they really tried to do it. Hell by the looks of WWE's logo uploader that could probably be worked in within 5 months! Thats loads of time!Goal Horn Hub developer,
